    Re: Bloomin' blisters! :-(

I have exactly the same problem with my present pairof inov 8s, but they seem really inconsistent - I've had other pairs which have been OK once worn in. I've got fairly prominent heel spurs particularly on right foot and was wondering if these were partly to blame.

ah the dreaded inov8 blister problem again!

Had the same problem with my last pair of Inov8s. Never ever got blisters until I did the Wharfedale marathon. They decided that doing a marathon was a great time to blister their owner. Ripped the skin off both heels and couldn't even put my work shoes on the next day.

After that day and before that day they never blistered me.

Were you wearing the same socks as always? Did the socks fit or are they slightly baggy? I put my blisters down to the socks as it seems odd that they didn't do it before or after.

I have not had 1 blister since using the Bridgedale X-Hale sock. I know this won't fix an ill fitting shoe but when you get your shoe issue sorted I would highly recommend this sock - there is a thread in equipment.

    Ta everyone!

It's my third pair of Inov8 290s - never had this trouble with the previous ones. Had this pair for a few months but haven't been out on long long runsin them before. That'll teach me.

I've even rejigged the lacing so that I tie them up quite low down (as I've done before).

Dunno, maybe I've got a duff pair of my feet have changed shape in the last 6 months!

    Re: Bloomin' blisters! :-(

I've never had blisters with my Inov8s; they must suit the shape of my feet. I do wear relatively thick running socks and do wear a half size up from my normal shoe size. The only thing I suffer slightly from is pressure on my toes on steep descents, usually when the shoes are wet as my feet slide forward a smidge.

Soooo annoying ...I wore my new Innov 8`s today for the first time, Only 20 minutes into my run I started with blisters on both heels . Never happened with my old Innov 8`s, but these feel quite stiff around the heel area. Does anybody have any ideas how to loosen them off please..I want to wear them at Whernside next weekend.

    Thank you.

Have you tried heating them with steam from a kettle until maliable(sp), then pop them on your foot allowing the heel cup to form around you?

Alternatively buy a pair of Glads .

Works a treat! Always use it for longer runs. Seems to protect feet a bit when they get boggy and wet and stop them rubbing loads.

Many people spend a fortune on bodyglide but not quite sure why when good old vasaline works so well.

    Vaseline? Now THAT'S a tip I can't ignore....!

Blisters healing but very slowly. Knock on effect is that for the past 24 hours have had a really painful stressed calf of the same leg. I guess this is due to the compensation whilst running for all that time....

"Grin & Bear It" on Sat is looking unlikely this afternoon.....
