A little courgette hunt by headtorch 5 minutes ago, (catches the nocturnal species as well) produced:
4 courgettes
tonight.
&
4 eaten
tonight.
Dom wins :(
a slightly paltry 2 and quite frankly, they looked a bit undersized :o.
Oh dear, that is unexpected... and I loose again, so Mr Courgette needs to wait another day for Mrs Courgette to emerge...:o

I shall now be harvesting on alternate days - due to cold nights causing slower growth. :(

Another good day, and found a 'lurker' heading for marrow size, hidden underneath one plant .
My mum gave me some of her home grown courgettes last wk.
Put them in a roasted veg with salmon.
Really hope she has not been widling on them:eek:
I doubt that she has, widdling on veg plants is very much a man's chore. Women don't have the facility to aim or spray correctly, and trying to do that ridiculous 'squatting thing' over a courgette plant or in the middle of a runner bean row, is far too undignified for most of them to even contemplate.
Thanks for the reasurance molehill
Hope it staves off the nightmares tonight
I don't want to worry you gentlemen but a lot of us ladies with allotments have sheds to shelter in and a bucket.....
....of course, I'm not talking about myself, although it has been said that my pumpkins look unnaturallly large this year and that isn't a euphemism!
3
picked early this morning.

consumed late this evening.

:D wicked growth :D
:D lots of widdling this weekend then
Save some for North Wales - preferably unwiddled!!
A gentle 2 this evening.
Hmmm, maybe you should sit with them for a bit and talk to them Moley???
I'm taking myself off somewhere quiet and alone in the early hours of tomorrow. When I return on Saturday night, I shall be expecting BIG things. ;)
