I think Matt Speake broke the course record which has stood since 1984. Sub 80 minutes? Will have to wait for results but he is a class act.

Gisborough Moors next week at 11.00am on Sunday 10th April, longest (12.5mls and 2600' climb) and the last of the Esk Valley Fell Club Winter Series. Few sore legs this week after the deceptively hard Blakey Blitz last week.
Not been much rain in the area for a few weeks now, so if it continues to stay dry conditions will be fast. Have a good one.
Rain or no rain I will be bringing up the rear! I have really enjoyed this series though, my first foray into this bonkers sport. These races have been rock hard and have royally exposed huge chasms in my training.
Probably be back again at the end of the year to do it all again.....the Viking is already in the diary!
You only have to wait until 26 April, first summer series race, The Carlton Challenge, 5 more miles on bonkerdom:D.
I may do something in the summer but I am planning racing in some other areas. NYM holds my winter charm.
Permission to add 'Bonkerdom' to my general vocabulary please...
great race and tough cos fast with the trail sections but dont be fooled into wearing road shoes you need some studs to descend to and from the Matterhorn of Teeside and for the final bomber descent to the rugby club, aye n keep a bit in the tank for the final run in down belmansgate
Looking forward to it. Its been gloriously sunny the last two years so I hope it will shine again. Those that did them both will remember how odd it was that the last of the winter series felt like summer and then for the start of the summer series at Carlton Bank we had snow!!
thats why pertex shorts were invented, skite down wet grass on yer hintend
I'll be there, undecided about footwear yet, see if it remains dry between now n then.....
Roclites for me, unless we get loads of rain.
Hey Rev...might actually say hello to you this time instead of checking out all the guys fitting your description at Borrowdale Youth Hostel (any excuse :) ) and then not approaching the one that was actually you!
La Sportiva Crosslites for me...if they're going to go then they'd better be quick about it.
Although if it's a nice day I may wear my new black wedged sandals.
haha ape I dont know what you mean by that, it is me in my photo!!! Although I probably wont have sunblock pasted on my face like said photo, although aybe I should after the sunburn I got during Blakey race :p Think im going to ride down on my bike for this, so I will be the sunburnt 35year old ( on thursday!! ) with the singlespeed bike :p I will look out for the smiley blonde hes, although im not sure what a plait is!! :)
I'm glad someone said this before me. Match.com.....see all your potential matches on the start line for a mere £6.00. You could even meet them in a ditch half way around the course.
I am nearly the same age as Hes (far side), the same height and if the mood is right I can be smiley, all I need is a blond plait wig and the Rev will have no chance................Club vests is the obvious next step but that could be too easy. There's nothing like the chase...............
Oy, you lot, that's my good name that you are besmirching!! Don't get carried away...just would be nice to put some faces to the names on the forum. :)
Fairyfeet...I'll still be in the open category for Gissy but then I'm joining you in the V40s, see you in the ditch (no that isn't a saucy invitation lads, calm down).
Only having a bit of fun Hes, no besmirching going on! Love makes the world go round.......................
You can all laugh at me when I come in last on Sunday! No pen name will save me.....it'll be that crappy I may just as well wear my new sandals at least I'll finish in style.
That's not true, you are running like the wind. Its me that's spent part of the last run up to my chest in a bog (literally)! That's what I meant about ditches. I seem to end up in them rather more frequently lately. See you Sunday, hope we both have a good one.:)
Running like I have wind would be a more accurate description of my current form! Looking forward to this last race event hough I have under trained and have a crick in my neck...I am conjouring(?) up an image of myself which is less than flattering. Hey Ho and away we go.....
MG I love the plait idea, although I would secretly be hoping I didn't look the older of us all! **Not much chance**
Ha ha...this is getting out of hand! :D
Perhaps I really should start a dating thread to keep everyone entertained! ;)
Rev...I promise faithfully that I do not have untoward intentions, I really was only wanting to say hello after failing to do so in Borrowdale. I'm now going to be hiding in a bush out of embarrassment.:o
(Deejay & MG, will be good to see you both again, I'll be the one wearing a paperbag over my head)
[QUOTE=Hes;403755]Ha ha...this is getting out of hand! :D

haha thats ok Hes, I knew where you were coming from..... ;) looking forward to Sunday now! im off to google plait......
and nee bother it wasnt so long since you were giving us a race, you will still be able to get the magic back if you want it!!
Hi Rev,
Guisborough moors fell race should be a good one:) have you done it before?
There's a few from the club going so should be fun!!
hi andy, ye man ive ran it a fair few times now, its a race I always enjoy doing but always end up infuriated at the end!!, as what normally happens is, im belting along grand, but lose ground climbing roseberry then loads of ground descending roseberry only to fly back across the last couple of miles of good running to just fail to catch the people who got away from me on roseberry :p i can see it happening now :p are you running it?
Yep I'll be pottering along:D should be some quite nice views to be taken in too, Roseberry Topping and Cooks Monument.
Forecast from BBC: 18, full sun and very little wind.
Bloody hell, it's going to be hard enough as it is thanks. Now we've got a hot day in store. Oh well, Ladies it's time to get the waxing kit out...it's shorts time!
Beautiful day, if not a little hot, a good race and a massive PB to boot. Good to see and speak to Hes (no plait), MG (no plait), AK and millions of fellow NFRs
