3 miles with the dog earlier and now im off to the XC race
Back in training with a very short 20 minute run across the very wet and very muddy fields around Pex Hill. The first time in 3 to 4 weeks had I have had no ill effects of my hip injury whilst running. The rest seems to have worked. Yippee.
64... I mean 6.4 miles around the fields.
Just done my first XC of the season. A 4 mile at Bradford, I felt like my eyeballs were popping out of my head. It a while since I have run that fast.
Well that's my speedwork done for the week.:)
A ten miler this morning up the back of Sharp Haw, over the top and back down towards Embsay, over the Golf Course, through Skipton Woods and back home.
The view of Gargrave from the side and top of Sharp Haw was fantastic - it could almost have been er.... Hobbiton settled amongst the rolling hills of Buckland*. Well if you ignore the frigging great Johnson & Johnson plant that is
* One of my lesser pubicised achievements (!!?) is that I've probably read the Lord of the Rings 20 odd times over the years - and yes they got the orcs and goblins all wrong in the films :)
Today I ran for 90 minutes.
I touched on six race routes, Gravy 6, Gravy Pud 5, Up the Nab, Herod Farm, Glossop 10 and Werneth Low Half Marathon and ran through three remembrance day prades and stopped at the one in Tintwistle to listen to the reading, the list of men and ladies who died and the last post.
All in all, a very interesting run.
Just back from a night trot around the Fairfield Horseshoe with Moo, uplifting. Wonderful clear night, shoes crunching through the frost and ice. :)
45 minutes on the bike this morning through Sheffield. Beautiful crisp morning. Saw a squashed squirrel on the road...was too busy looking at it that i nearly fell off into a pothole. Smelly cycling gear now fermenting in my store cupboard...will be just right for the return journey home.
Hill reps in woods with headtorch.
4.6 mile with 1450ft ascent.
A couple of beers are now required:rolleyes:
Another very short 25 minute run around the same wet muddy route of Pex Hill as yesterday. Again no reaction to injury so time to start building up the distance again.
7 miles with my dog
i tied a l.e.d flashing light to his collar
brilliant run , he never moaned once :)
Hour run on the roads round Glossop area.
Lovely nice cold evening for it.
Wow I actually did some running last night!:D
Yes believe it or not.
Was the should I or should I not do full tour on sat decider and depressingly the knee was fine and the run reasonably quick (well for me) so looks like I'll be there feck :o
Just done my second fitball class. Thought it would be a bit girly but its actually very good :)
Yes.
The few blokes who go are all runners and/or cyclists, looking to improve core strength.
15 min warm up, 9x3mins off 90 seconds, 15 min warm down.
Rather enjoyed it.
35 minute run across the fields around Pex Hill in Cronton extremely wet and muddy underfoot worse than the last few nights but I really enjoyed it under a clear sky could do with a head torch I think.
6 miles with our new club member tonight
65 year old eric, a nice chat and it made me feel good that i ran with him otherwise he would have been on his own
4 miles to club fast and 2 miles home
Just had a 4 mile run in my lunch time.
Far better than pushing cards around on the screen:D
5.5 miles in the Quarries and Padarn park before breakfast, unfortunately opted not to have a shit pre-run, noone shuld go behind the Mon Barracks in the quarries for a while, track session at 4pm.
erm.... forgotten what this is
45 mins cross country
33 mins hilly road run.
I did 1 hour and 4 mins. Got in trouble because I told her I was only doing an hour. She says its not fair because I can run and she cant!!!
turbo trainer did 40 mins including 10 x 2 mins off 1 min recovery, bloody hard work
47 mins road (@6 miles) - not as hilly as yesterday.
Hill Rep's! 5X 1/2 Mile Hills! Bloody Hard Work!
Did 45 minutes cross country tonight, yet again in very muddy and boggy conditions on a very frosty clear evening. 4th run this week and feeling great after 3-4 weeks of injury gradually building up the distance again.
4 miles this am :)
god i am rubbish at running these days - how do i get back into it?? :(
