Back in training with a very short 20 minute run across the very wet and very muddy fields around Pex Hill. The first time in 3 to 4 weeks had I have had no ill effects of my hip injury whilst running. The rest seems to have worked. Yippee.
64... I mean 6.4 miles around the fields.
Just done my first XC of the season. A 4 mile at Bradford, I felt like my eyeballs were popping out of my head. It a while since I have run that fast.
Well that's my speedwork done for the week.![]()
A ten miler this morning up the back of Sharp Haw, over the top and back down towards Embsay, over the Golf Course, through Skipton Woods and back home.
The view of Gargrave from the side and top of Sharp Haw was fantastic - it could almost have been er.... Hobbiton settled amongst the rolling hills of Buckland*. Well if you ignore the frigging great Johnson & Johnson plant that is![]()
* One of my lesser pubicised achievements (!!?) is that I've probably read the Lord of the Rings 20 odd times over the years - and yes they got the orcs and goblins all wrong in the films![]()
Today I ran for 90 minutes.
I touched on six race routes, Gravy 6, Gravy Pud 5, Up the Nab, Herod Farm, Glossop 10 and Werneth Low Half Marathon and ran through three remembrance day prades and stopped at the one in Tintwistle to listen to the reading, the list of men and ladies who died and the last post.
All in all, a very interesting run.
Just back from a night trot around the Fairfield Horseshoe with Moo, uplifting. Wonderful clear night, shoes crunching through the frost and ice.![]()
