A brief appearance by Wheeze as well
Damn...QAH tonight. I've just noticed that in your profile editing page next to the date of birth bit, it advises you to contact an administrator if your date of birth changes??????????? I don't know anyone who has woken up with a different DOB!
Haha! I know what you mean Mr B :D
If only it were as easy as changing it on here
How's married life OneHill? :D
Pretty good so far thanks DT
Off to the bank today to change my name over and I am quite excited :o:o
Working from home today and just having my elevenses. A cup of Punjana and a blueberry muffin. The sun is shining and looking out of my South facing window a bunch of (not sure what the collective noun is for Butterflies?) large Tortoiseshells are mugging my Buddleiah. Just nipped out to snap them in the act and here are a couple of the ugly brutes indulging in a feeding frenzy .

Lovely shot, Alf. I think these are small tortoiseshells, as they have the white dot on the forewing.

Sorry to be pedantic. But I was wondering if I'd been seeing large ones too. :)
Yes I think you are right Noel. That Buddleiah flower is about 5 cms across (so the picture is roughly actual size) which makes them about 45 mm, so small and probably male? Not pedantic just scientific
I normally see different sized Tortoiseshells and always assumed they were large and small but now I think they were just male (small) and female (large) so I just learned something :D
I think I have a Painted Lady there as well ?

Nice. Apparently these migrate. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/8068050.stm
It's funny to think of a butterfly flying to the UK from Africa.
And last but not least and I really should get on with some work now :rolleyes:a Red Admiral

Lovely pics Alf :D
We "grew" some painted lady butterflies this year, the kids loved it (or blutterflies as my step daughter calls them). Next year I think we will create a butterfly patch in our garden
23 hours since anyone posted down the pub?? :w00t:
 No way Dom!
I feel the need to post now but don't know what to say
I was going to post the same earlier but ran out of time, perhaps that's what's been going on- everyone's been running out of time.Quote:

Its warming up in the office and I have opened a window. Now I am getting grief from the "I don't like drafts" brigade ! Bloomin windows about an inch open  Roll on tomozz when I am working from home :D
It IS mild at the moment Alf, however drafts are bad :D
I would be able to cope though I have my new North Face jacket to protect me from the elements, either on hill or in office
v QAH :)
If i had a better internet connection I'd be on more, using an O2 dongle at the mo, and it can only connect to GPRS around here, so the bandwidth is dreadful! :/
