Huh? If the race is off the beaten track, a fallow year isn't needed and if its on the beaten track, 99% of the time the track is a well used walkers route.

The real answer is unfortunately worse still - the national trust or national parks authority will eventually turn all of the walkers paths into slabbed staircases :(

I tend to do 3 months racing 9 months off - its called injury.

Another option of course is we only allow club runners to enter and give so many places to the club for each race. It would mean people would be more competitive in the clubs and train harder. We could also ensure that only A grade runners ran A races, B in B races etc. It would also stuff the Ponies which would not be a bad thing.

Anyway if that happened the rest of us would just sort out our own non-eletist events and you'd end up with twice as many races.

No not really - it was suggested elsewhere that this thread was a flamebait - which was not the intention, it was just meant to be a silly thread. however given the expectation for me to post "baiting" stuff I thought I had better be a martyr to the cause and keep Noel happy , it is nearly Xmas after all, and by doing this for him I am showing my nice side.

Natural processes do not cause destruction, It is human society that perceives natural processes as destructive. I see your point that we are only doing the same (moving materials around), but we are consciously aware of our actions and can prevent it if we so wish.:)

I apologise for the misinterpretation of my post. I was merely indicating that you were digging yourself into a hole with this debate, hence shovel/hole, but alas you had humorous intentions from the beginning, which many of us, including myself didn't initially pick up on. :cool:
