If the forecast for v strong Westerlies comes true wonder if more people will be tempted by the direct route to Ringing Roger just to get out of the wind?

I will be very happy if I reach Mam Tor in 2.15 and Jacob's Ladder in 3.15 but with a sore foot and the weather forecast I am not optimistic. Will give it my best effort though and hopefully the three days
lay-off because of my sore foot should mean I am well rested!
stop worrying you lot its not gonna be cold:rolleyes:
Many are cold but few are frozen.
 Just looked at that weather forecast.
Not looking forward to marshalling in those conditions.
Will have to invest in a pretty hefty Guinness jacket tomorrow night!
I'm on Mam Tor Ian, How about yourself?
On a marshalling note if anyone has any specific requests for shouts of encouragement / heckles etc. note them down with your race number.
Otherwise I'll just wheel out the mildly annoying classics such as "C'mon chaps, not far to go now!!"
Just shout "kit check at next checkpoint" and see what sort of look you get.
roughly how long will it take my wife to walk from the start to mam tor checkpoint
is the forecast honestly that bad
such is the devotion my wife has for me
im sure i can depend on her to wait it out in all weathers with my banana and nutella sarnies eagerly awaiting her husband trudging up mam tor.
id better arrange to meet her in the pub in castleton:o
just got back from walking the last half of the course it is cold you could well need hoods by sunday as the forcast is for colder winds dont be lulled by the sun in edale its cold on the tops and i for one will be out a long time :)

Could anyone tell me what OS/Harveys Map I need for the race?
Just read kit check notes - Last year waterproof tops were checked with Pertex turned away, a spare thermal may be required.
See you all tomorrow

If there are any left you can get a purpose made map from linx below. If there are any left they will be available on the day, If not you need OS OL 1.

Off to pack the bag.
Glad I bought the montane 200 with the hood:)
I think I will just take everything I own in the boot of my car and decide when I get there!!
(Then I will take even longer to get ready - much to the annoyance of my family)
That's another recurring dream .........arriving late!!
