Water stations at the road crossing at Holme Moss mast, and also last year there was water at the Crowden checkpoint.
Thanks guys....better find out where it is now, might need to find a hostel & go down Friday night.

Just read 4 pages into this thread and realised i'm about 2 years behind!!!!
Does anyone know if drinks/water will be available en-route this year.
Many ta's,
Ken
I think there was talk of water at Laddow as well.Quote:

But we've had a fair bit of rain so there will be streams on route including the stream that comes off Black Chew Head
Looking out of the window right now the clag is down and there's a steady drizzle. Puts me in mind of Wasdale last Saturday... I guess as long as there's significant rain between now and Sunday there'll be water to be found en route.
They're carting water up from Crowden to the top of Laddow on Saturday so there'll be some there.
What? And take half the fun away, trying to find a line between Crowdwn Brook and the bottom of Laddow.
Don't rely on water at Laddow, 400 runners? There's only so much water you can carry from Crowden. After that it's from a spring just below Laddow, so if your offering of water from Ashley is a bit brown you know where it's come from.
Is there a final list of pre-entries? I was cutting it quite fine with getting my entry in and would like to know if I've got a plce before I turn up. There may even be an element of hoping not to have a place si I can revert to plan A which was pub Saturday night followed by lazy Sunday.
are there substitutions as i know of a few who cannot make it,or are there def entries on day.
trying to get mon off work to accomodate.
Water will not now be an issue its teeming down, thunder and lightning, flooded roads.:w00t::w00t:
Ground under foot will be considerably softer now.
It's 'hammering it down' here too, & has been for the past hour or more.
I could see it moving in over 'the Moss' earlier (can see over to there from the attic window)
I was going to go to the Cyclo-Cross at Elland (Brookbank School?), but decided that the M62 would be chaos!, & that the event might possibly be cancelled to prevent the playing-fields being chewed up
Should be an interesting one this weekend. I can see the Moss now from my living room window, and it ain't looking too clever.
Just wondering if it will be possible to leave our bags etc at Cartworth CC whilst we're all out playing on the fells?
Rain seems to be clearing up now, but the wind is getting pretty hellish. Just been out on the bike up near hade edge and got blown off it by a nasty cross wind!!!!!
Do you want to carshare jan, Then you can leave the bag in the car??
Which is more than we could at times today.
Ran round with Nicky this morning, Not paticularly cold but very wet (for wet read Torrential rain) and windy with clag on the tops. The boggy areas are covered in water but it's still firm-ish underneath, not sure it will be like this on race day. Found a much better line up to Laddow, happier now.
Not much more rain forecast, but some pretty serious wind with gusts up over 40mph
Was soupy this morning over tooleyshaw
can anyone tell me roughly how long it'll take to drive to Sheffield after the race on Sunday?
Do we have an updated entry list??
I don't think I can do it now, hope no-one gets turned away because of shortage of places but I understand there is EOD? Still hoping I have an outside chance of getting there but it's most likely the Gravy 6 for me.
i know there are at least two from my club who are not doing it,
im sure the same numbers apply to the other clubs too.
I take it that it's still quite wet (to say the least) up there?
If so, can't the Holmfirth Harriers double up, & have a 'bog-snorkelling championship' too?
