Hooray!
The hatches are well and truly battened down at Alf towers today as the old asbestos factory fire burns a few miles away. I wouldn't go for a run on leg 5 of the Pennine Bridleway relay route today as you might be breathing in something more than just air and there is little wind today!
Crikey, that sounds a bit grim Alf!!!
I just hope the firemen (about 50 involved I believe) are suitably protected and have their clothes cleaned properly afterwards. Its a controversial site as builders have wanted to build houses there but the council has turned down planning requests so far as locals quite rightly dont want all that dust being disturbed. I am not convinced the builders could properly clean the area either and would do a bodged job at best!
Hope nyou are not still holed up Alf :closed:
Wish I was.... At work instead
My appraisal today at work
Normal for an appraisal then :D
In my last appraisal, my manager told me all about how he hated his job, and the went on to give me his objectives for the coming year, to write down on my form :sneaky:
Forum is very quite at the minute.
Anyone got some good news or a funny joke?
I'm drying a pair of jeans on a clothes-horse and they should be dry for the pub tonight
I know, and we have to keep GB entertained... the Cumberland flag probably won't suffice, will it?

Favourites anyone? The one with the Liberty Bell?
If I was choosing, the new design would have darker blue & green.

I love living in Yorkshire and will never move but still get a lump in my throat when I see the 'Derbyshire' sign on the M1 southbound
I might have confused you Graham. There is a sign that says simply 'DERBYSHIRE'; there is not a flag (I had to google for an image and don't think I've seen it before)
I always enjoy passing the White Rose marker at J22 of the M62
I saw the other day that they've just introduced a Nottinghamshire flag...with a picture of Robin Hood on it!! I would have thought a county that old would have a flag already!! Sorry Derby Tup for mentioning N******ham!! :o
I recon Derbyshire’s flag should be a picture of a Ram butting Robin Hood. :w00t:

Just looking back at my running stats and yesterdays Black Combe race was my longest since 12th Oct 2008 (Windgather) and my longest run since 30th Oct 2012 Snowdon.
May be I need to up my training a little if I am to do more AM's.
Now I understand but I climbed both hills well, it was just the length of time on the feet.
I have similar dilemmas, Derbyshire born and breed but now live in Scotland, still no dilemma when the rugby is on, supported England sinceI was 12 years old that will not change :closed:.
There used to be on the road sign just before Borrowash on the Nott’s Derby boarder a picture, which was of the Derby County Ram butting the Nottingham Forest football teams emblem of a tree, and the tree was being broken by the Ram :D.

There's a helicopter hovering over my house. Now what have I done ?
There's no need for that Dom :sneaky:
He's probably just left a used running sock in the back of he car.
I've done that a couple of times, and it is pretty revolting after a week or so.
 Grumpy. Too busy.
 On the plus side, no work tomorrow!
Well I just changed my first bulb on my MK7 Fiesta. I had to remove the whole headlight unit to change an indicator bulb  Thank goodness for tinternet! No end of instructions and youtube videos and I needed all of them. :D
Why do car designers do that??? Used to be changing a bulb was a 10/15 min job on most cars , now its a major operation.. Wifes Corsa manual actually says..take it to a dealer, then explains how much you have to remove to get at the rear of the housings...not as if its a small engine compartment either, like the old minis...
Apparently you have to carry a bulb kit by law abroad..what you supposed to do with it if you have a fault beats me.
From my time in the industry talking to folk employed by car manufacturers and the servicing side. It's to get as many folk as possible paying to have work done on there car.Quote:

They've been getting too reliable.
