This grandad hopes to do about 4:30.
4 - 4:30 will do me. I'm aiming for as close to 4hrs as possible but will be happy with anything under 4:30, Jez keep an eye out for me again as we may well be going round at the same pace. This time I'll be more easily identified as I'll have a Horsforth Harriers vest as well as a red cap :)
3rd time lucky for breaking 4hrs. (4.09/4.02). More likely to be 4.15 due to insufficient training!
Will do Rob ! Seems like you have the same target as me !
3:59:59
Exactly the same for me, though I've never done it before so I'm not entirely certain. Just looked at the entry list and could only count a handful of people younger than me (I'm 22), so if you see a young guy with long hair struggling on the uphills then say hello!
5 hours exactly - although if I can relive my glory year of flying down Ingleborough (from memory) in 2007 I'll be chuffed.
4.44 would be a PB for me ,can I do it though ? doubtful :w00t:
I'm hoping to do 4:15 but, merely by posting that target here, I will have given myself the kiss of death.
Good luck all, missed it again this year, next year it is :)
Ah, so its 3 peaks time again. I just decided on my tactics on the day - If start slowish I think I can do 4.30 relatively comfortable and if I start semi slowish I am hoping to do 4.15 without too much pain but what's the fun with such 'Mourinho' like negative tactics.
So, in order to have any change of a sub 4hr finish, I am therefore going for a fast start up Pen Y Ghent (Sub 40) and then try to push on to Ribblehead (60min -1.40). the rest of the race will take of itself depending how I feel.
I will most likely be dying up Whernside and Ingleborough and end up with a very uncomfortable 4.15-30 finish but I know that I don't have the speed to make up any time lost in the early stages so a positive fast start it is.
I have tried this tactic the last 3 years and I failed miserably twice but 2009 was a success.
Anyhow regardless of the time, 'its win or lose, on the booze' for me. Looking forward to that beer after the race.
Target one, to beat last years woeful time (5.06)
Target two, to beat 5 hours.
Target three (I think a bit of a long shot, but we'll see) 4.30
Or if turns out rather too warm, target zero, make it off PyG in one piece :)
Good luck LiamM, hope you get No. 3!
Good luck everyone else too. I am almost inspired to have a go myself next year ;)
Hi there, looking forward to my first attempt with trepidation, noticed the beer tent last year and wondering how long the festivities go on for?? do some make an evening of it? can't find any details on the site other than a prizegiving. the thought might spur me on on the final stretch
I'm after 3:45 but will settle for sub 4 hours. I'm hoping the weather ain't too warm for saturday
got to be aiming for 3:30 ish this year fingers crossed it all goes well on the day!! Looking forward to the beers afterwards, its going to be tough going underfoot!!
Really looking forward to this, excited but nervous. Just seen weather forecast, sunny and about 17 degrees, sounds alright that, no warmer though.
Hoping to break 4hr 30mins, it'll be close, but so much can go wrong though, so just keeping fingers crossed.
Looks like it's going to be a bit windy though!
"How Windy?
Easterly; 30 to perhaps 40mph with gusts locally 50mph.
Effect Of Wind?
Buffeting widespread, particularly on higher areas, with sudden gusts blowing downslope into some valleys." - from MWIS.
Wind is ok, at least it should keep us cool. As long as we don't get rain I'm happy
See the conditions live:

It still amazes me when people quote weather forecasts!
And yes, I suppose it may be windy tomorrow - but I find that reality does occasionally co-incide with the forecast.
I'll be taking a bit of kit for every eventuality and decide what to take in the hour before the race.
Good luck everyone. It's already a bit windy round here! My first time so I've no idea how long it'll take.
Good luck everybody tomorrow. Just started getting my kit ready - not got owt else to do
See you in the morning.
Anyone driving from near Sheffield have a car space?

Just when you are hanging on in there, coming down off Ingleborough through Sulber and you're dreaming of a pint - it looks like we'll have a stiff headwind just to make it even more unpleasant :D
Well, very disappointed but there's no way I can line up for this with a chest infection that just won't clear. I'd considered taking in just one or two peaks, but even that would be stupid (and I can't face 'the bus of shame' as a team mate calls it).
Will have to resign myself to being on photo duty again - will be at Ribblehead and Hill Inn, see you all there. Briefly.
:-(
Im not jealous or owt of you lot doing this, honestly :p wish id got my ass in gear and got an entry........
Best of luck everyone, enjoy your runs out, go Hes, Jez and MG!
Cheers Rev, maybe next year ?
Getting excited now. Kit prepped. Family notified of where to wait with jam butties & flat coke. That wind'll slow me down a tad mind. Could be a 4.15 for me.
anyone going to do the Wray Fair scarecrow fell race on Monday after doing the three preaks.
also a 10k at Milnthorpe on Sunday organised by Dallam
Right am off to Settle, good luck everyone might see a few of yea in the pub tonight and beer tent Sat night
Good luck all - was thinking earlier when out on Ilkley Moor that if it wasn't for the wind it would be ideal conditions for you tomorrow - except it'll be even windier and a degree or 3 warmer:w00t:
