[QUOTE=daz h;117050]have you binned those shoes yet
how they got through kit check god only knows:QUOTE]
What was wrong with my shoes... :o
Yes they've now gone in the bin where they should have gone about three weeks after buying them:mad:
On the kitcheck front:
To the best of my knowledge only 4 people turned up with no phone and they were able to borrow one off friends or partners. 2 people turned up with out any windproof/waterproof pants which we were able to aquire some off the marshalls.
Mr G Manhood seemed to be carrying a full telephone exchange.

Strider it was a close finish, you came in 4 seconds behind me. Did I run past you on the finishing field or were you catching me because I couldn't bend my legs for the last 100m, They were like frozen licorice;) ouch
Stolly's report on his thread makes good reading.
Thanks to AndyJ for taking it all on.
Re: Edale Skyline 30th March 2
Aright Ian, I still owe 50p for the t-shirt!! I'll be getting one of those retro t-shirts that will be available shortly so will send an extra 50p to Richard!!

its not the shoes , you run sideways , i noticed it when i followed you at the hobble, ask a club mate to run behind you Ian , its quite noticeable
Re: Edale Skyline 30th March 2
I wonder how many sheep close to the route are experiencing a sugar rush today? Navigation was no problem at all yesterday - just follow the line of jelly babies.
Still counts as giving you a good kicking Slippery Stones even though you blobbed!
Thanks to those who showed some concern for me when a rather large piece of gritstone came away and scrapped down me shin bone on RR. Shame it happened at the beginning and not at the end but at least it gave me a tailor made excuse for the shabby performance that followed!
Great organisation as ever and great cozzie Darth...suits you.
Re: Edale Skyline 30th March 2
Thanks for a great day out everyone, it was my first time but I'll be back for more next year (in proper fell shoes, not my Highlanders which I nearly lost in the bog :)) Great marshalls, lovely route and I never realised that Bertie Bassett had such nice legs. Cheers all.

here are my splits
grindslow knoll arrive 2hrs48 48
ringing roger 3hrs11 47
so it took me 22mins 59 to do the down and up
id say i took 20seconds to have a drink out the stream at the bottom.
I was too tired to contemplate doing the down & up from Grindslow Knoll, so trailed round the top to Ringing Roger in 22:26 (which also includes stop for a drink).
Not that trimming 33 secs from your lead made any difference :).

I like the way this implies that no-one in the club normally runs behind IDP! (Both unfair and untrue I should point out).

You passed me on the last part of the zig zag descent, due to my amazingly poor descending skills.... the times I passed people on the ups only to see them again on the downs..... very dispiriting. Something my trail and road running background never prepared me for. :(

Also, I was feeling strong at the end so wasn't hanging around (although I did have to stop to get my bearings - but only for 20 secs or so.)
Unfortunately I thought I had my slip with me but I must have left it at home. I'll take a look at times tonite and get back to you with the comparison.)
Cheers.
Splits are up on the DPFR site.

DazH - you didn't lose any time going down and up (nor did you gain any time) and it didn't knacker you as you ran the last section as quick as Lloyd!

I notice John Stephenson was 2½ minutes in front of me at Grindslow, did the down and up and arrived at Ringing Roger 1½ minutes after me. In fact we met as I was on the way down and he was climbing up.
