Well done finishing . Come to think of it I think you parked next to me in the car park - I didn't immediately recognise you until thinking about it a bit later!

How useless are we? I didn't recognise you either! Hope your leg gets sorted quick

Hey Raymond, we finished in the same time. I would have said hello if i'd known who you were....and if i'd recogised you

Probably. I chatted to him several times on the way round but didn't ask his name.
However the mate who I traveled with kept refering to "Robin" so you are probably right!

I'm intrigued by the speed of the Down and Up option vs the easier round the houses... I was hoping split times would be published, but they're not on the DPFR site. If you've still got your results slip what time did you reach Grindslow and then how long did it take you to get to Ringing Roger?

I'll look at my slip and compare.
    Cheers

    here are my splits

    grindslow knoll arrive 2hrs48 48

    ringing roger 3hrs11 47
so it took me 22mins 59 to do the down and up
id say i took 20seconds to have a drink out the stream at the bottom.
was surprised i still finished 14th so i dont think i lost any places

cant say i could have gone any quicker, the up was a struggle and its rough ground for the first quarter of the climb , no easy choice and you aint got time to really think about it.
like i said Alan Yates of the rucksack club was a big help as he was standing on the path and said you have the right line lad, my thoughts now was that it made the last part of the race more intresting

i now want to know how much extra climb it is on top of the std race stats

andy b cmon work it out

forum anonymity forbids me to tell . I'll give you a clue - I usually wear a red and white striped vest with a ram's head on it and we spent a fair bit of the race running fairly close together. Because we were running a similar speed it'll be good to compare the times between grindslow knoll and rr i.e. Down and Up vs round.
Also, I was feeling strong at the end so wasn't hanging around (although I did have to stop to get my bearings - but only for 20 secs or so.)
Unfortunately I thought I had my slip with me but I must have left it at home. I'll take a look at times tonite and get back to you with the comparison.)
    Cheers.
