An easy week last week seemed to help in that I took 4.5 minutes off my Carnethy time (down to 74.5), so I should be pleased, but I felt awful and if every run felt like that I would give up, heavy legs, no energy, wanted to sit and cry on the last descent. So much for easy weeks! I don't know how to think about it, good time, horrid run?
Had a steady 11 with my partner on local trails yesterday to recover so a bit happier. See how this week goes.
Jason.
17.96 miles on road bike at 15mph average. Hilly route and remember only averaging 13mph last year on same route. Felt strong, didn't push it, so i reckon all that singlespeeding has increased me strengh, forgot how to change gear though:eek: Another cracking day, if a bit chilly, hardly any wind, saw a lone runner plodding over Marsden moor, opposite Buckstones:cool:
5 Mile, 4 at tempo pace, nice day for running and long may this weather continue !!
Track session tonight, hopefully do 10 x 400's, 1 min recovery.
Also logged my Millionth foot of ascent since I started logging distances ran and ascent climbed back in January 2006.
30 minutes easy before work, after 12 months of cross training it feels really good to be running again :D
8 miles round trip to the gym this morning, 20 lengths in the pool.
40 minutes of sweaty turbo fun
Track session, did 800 m sets of 350m effort, 200 recovery, 150 effort, 150 recovery, repeat 7 times.
With warm up, stretching then running motion drills, and cool down, ended up being 6.57 miles of running in total.
First serious track session since broke my arm and I felt OK and ran in my usual position in the group so don't think I've lost too much fitness.
11 x 1 mile reps with 1 min Recovery @ 7.10 pace
Where do you do your track session around Llanberis?
I went over Derwent edge and back again, 10 miles 2500ft, wanted to stay up there for the rest of the day. absolutely stunning, the visibilty was so clear it felt like I could touch Fairbrook Naze from Back Tor. Runing in vest and shorts with out a cloud above me and no wind, thick freezing fog in the valley. ground like concrete, loads of ice. Heaven:D :D
103 miles/5900' on the bike. Over to Gargrave, Buckden, Fleet Moss, Hawes, Ribblehead, Settle, Sawley, Clitheroe and back home. Mainly sunny & blue skies but I had a 45 min spell early on where I hit mist and an air frost. It was absolutly brass monkeys. In that short time my bottle went to slush and I had ice down both arms and lower legs.
Took a few scenic hilly photos on the way round - will upload to 'new FRA gallery' :)
3m plod -3 and freezing fog:eek: Salmon steak and mediterrainian sun dried vegatables now for a taste of summer:cool:
10 mile run on the moors.
Easy 5 last night, feeling better after weekend. Then 10 on road tonight, hilly so pushed up hills and then last 20min tempo, felt much better, why didnt C5 feel this good at the weekend? Anyway glad to be feeling smooth again whatever.
Jason
5 miles off road, could not resist the temptation to go to Darwen Tower in the fullish moon. My knee niggle payed for it on the way down, got the shooting pains back again:mad: .
Big bowl of Ice water in the freezer, going to kneel in it for 20 minutes and pray that I have not done too much and aggravated the damn thing.
8.3 mile run with Sinatra on the roads tonight after work.
Only a short 30mins run in the fog and frost at dusk. Saw a Barn Owl:)
4.5 Mile on the Canal, felt very tired after yesterday
14.5 mile trail run in dark. 7.5 with the club plus the same on own too and from run with the dog. felt good and a decent pace for a run in the dark over rough trails. feeling tired now but quite strong over all. Why didnt I feel this good at the weekend?
Jason
Only time today for a very short 2.15 mile on the treadmill at about 6.35 pace. Did it as part of a fitness testing programme with my students in the multi-gym this afternoon..
Two of us did the Half Tour of Pendle and the weather was the nearest thing to last year's Edale Skyline that I've experienced. We didn't have the hail, but everything else and very low cloud. Really enjoyed it and am ready for anything now. The breakfast we had afterwards at the cafe went down a treat.:)
6 of us did a Helsby hill recce with headtorches tonight over 9 miles in total. Great running in the dark in the countryside and along the Sandstone trail some tough hills thrown in as well. Doing it again in a few weeks.
75 minutes pilates. I feel as if I've been racked!
Easy 4 on road and trail, struggling through strong winds last night. Felt ok after a few hard days though
Jason
5 Mile easy, think i have overtrained earlier in the week, either that or I am coming down with something.
Come on guys this thread set up my Dominion is not doing its self justice and it would be of graet benefit to everyone if people started posting there efforts here on a daily basis. !!!:D
3 hours out on the mountain bike, Im not a biker and really struggled. It also hurt my already sore knee.
Its no substitute for running, think I'm just gonna have to rest up.
30 mins on snow covered roads which was tricky and sticky. now getting ready to go skiing
Easy rolling 8 on local roads and trails after rest day yesterday and big day tomorrow.
Very strong headwind going out and had to go through a large herd of COWS!!! I hate cows! The dog was very good running to heel and the cows really couldn't have given two hoots by the look of them, but my heart rate jumped. Can I count that as a tempo run then?
Jason
