Dislocated shoulder.... god it hurt:eek:, Popped it back in myself hate going to A+E.Damn sore today in work.
Inflamed tendon in foot. No running, very grumpy
Buggered ankle from first race in 6 months.... Back to cross country races on Saturday. I can't injured in a few laps round Berryhill Park in Mansfield???
Plantar Fascia - why do they give it such stupid names.
I was walking out of a lecture this aft and my heel was killing, typed it into google and diagnosed it myself.;)
Hairy Legs, I did that a few weeks ago... had it x-rayed the day after though, going into a&e early Monday morning wasn't quite so bad, as you can actually fracture the shoulder while dislocating it. Soft tissue damage will cause a fair amount of pain, but start moving it within it's range of movement just against the pain level, i.e. when you feel discomfort but no pain, 48 hours after it happened. I am almost 6 weeks down the line now and have 90% mobility and 60% strength back... mind you, the muscle I tore in the process still hurts a tat...
Fell off a machine at work, grazes up both legs, battered knee and bruised ribs. Was gonna have an easy weekend doing nothing, even that will be painful now:(
Bit of Strongbow painkiller required tonight:cool:
Probably go and see my friend who just lost his wife on Wednesday, died suddenly, no warning signs, didn't drink or smoke, regular road runner and gym goer, aged 42. Life is cruel sometimes:mad:
I've become bit of a veteran when it comes to dislocating my shoulder. It started popping out when a was 18. Had two major ops the last one 3 years ago, spent three months in a sling then two months physio. I worked damn hard after op and was confident it would'nt dislocate again how wrong was I Have been on a real low all week not so much from the pain but knowing its started all over again. The worst one I had was in bed, I woke up with a dislocted shoulder, my arm was locked above my head and I passed out few times. The doc's can never get it back in so I try and get it in myself. Hope yours heals 100% as its not nice and the pain is up there with child birth lol ha. (my wife has just read this and says nothing will ever compare with child birth not even 2 dislocated shoulders and a punch in the mouth)
That is what I fear most Hairylegs... that the shoulder has now become unstable and it will happen again and again and again... :(
Haven't had any children, so can't comment on the comparison with childbirth, all I can say is that I was glad I was in the middle of nowhere, because the expletives I shouted when it dislocated and when I popped it back in were not for other peoples ears! Worst pain I have ever felt... almost passed out!
I fell yesterday, while out on the hill... stuck both arms out to break the fall, as one does, and it really jarred the shoulder and it feels the way it felt weeks ago now. Thankfully, it stayed in place! Had my front teeth through my upper lip though, like I used to as a kid! :o
Oh well, at least I was able to continue my run, as I was rather enjoying it! :)
Got a big open sore on my heel after the Rab, have tried to keep running but it wont heal. Have cut the back off a pair of old walshes tonight so hoping they will stay on my feet and let me run without causing agony:confused:
my left calf's still playing up, i had a massage yesterday with deep heat stuff, was painful to say the least (physios are evil) It needs to be well for windgather sunday:(
that and the OMM in a few weeks Ady. The grand tour rules!! We need someone to act as treasurer (not me cause i am crap with money) that is willing to make bookings etc...
I thought it was going a bit too well: had to abandon my run after 10 mins today with soreness in my lower quad. getting worse........who knows why??
Perhaps it has something to do with the speedwork I attempted on Wednesday (actually enjoyed it, even if it was on the Tarmac!!).
I'm posting here in a vain attempt to save my nearest and dearest from a monologue of angst........why is it that I keep getting injuries? Will this one be a "biggie" or just a twinge? when do I try running again? Will you have killed me before then? (No jury in the land would convict my long suffering bloke, if he could no longer keep up the pretence of nodding and faining mild interest in todays new pain/symptom/anxiety about not being able to run AGAIN!!)
Perhaps an opportunity to get down to some serious studying tomorrow?? Wish me luck/patience/inspiration/no sharp objects in the vicinity before a miraculous recovery occurs.
I bliddy well sprained my ankle last Saturday and it appears I have partially ruptured my atfl :(
fell at great whernside, seemed to have done something to my calf as well as taking a nice bit of skin off my shin,no running today, bummer
Still have my twisted ankle and now A head full of snot too. A Week off for me i think!
I've got a really really sore eye.
Due to a combination of wearing out of date contact lenses for too long, going for a bike ride by myself in the dark and peering into the wind which dried out the contact lenses even more
....and then getting home and crying didn't help.
and my foot still hurts from where I fell over running up Ingleborough last week.
This thread is very theraputic isn't it. I must come on it more often.
Sorry had to laugh, read as PEEING IN THE WIND:oQuote:
peering into the wind
i just feel like crap today, chucked up last night, feel like i've had a night on the tiles!:(
Don't tell Lola DD, she will need you in tip top condition.:D
Oh no, not another one fallen by the wayside before I've had my fill; dinner that is, obviously.
DD,
Good to see you're now back on message; strapping is good for sooo many things.
Right Knee!:(
After Roaches my knee was a bit dodgy, I wore a support on Tuesday for my 2.3 miler and again wore it last night for my 6 mile trot so had no problems whilst running.
After sitting down to watch TV last night, when I went to stand up again, my knee sort of just gave way.
Killing this morning, the walk from the bus station to uni was horrendous.
God knows what’s up with; I think I need to rest for a few days.
I thought I’d solved my bloody knees.:(
It took me 10 years of painful running and a very expensive to fix my right Achille tendon.
Now the left one has started complaining :(
i have absoluteley no injuries at all today:)
left heel: killing me bloody thing, right ankle, needs chopping off, and i'm walking like an incontinent john Wayne
