Dash, on their website it says they are open... My friend says yesterday they cancelled 11 flights :( Let's just hope the weather improves...

As London has descended into chaos just beacause of 1 inch of snow, I'm pleased to report I got a fantastic run out near home on Sunday in glorious weather through pristine powder snow. I wore my O-shoes and found I had Spider-man like grip even on sheet ice.
Great run - just need to keep it up through the xmas excesses ;)
Quite a bit more snow overnight here and its coming down heavily still. Hope I can get into Skipton to start my Christmas shopping later
This mornings photo. I need to check the snow chains fit properly any way;)

First real new snow here since last weekend - still only about 4 inches though!!
I finished work at eleven last night, and it had been snowing heavlily for about an half-an hour at a guess before i finished.
I was the first to ride on alot of the roads and it was the most amazing experience ive ever had on my bike. The flakes where huge and it was almost a white out at times.
My back wheel slid out a couple of times but other than that it was great fun.
When i got home, i pulled up the drive to see my mum, dad, grandma and dog stood waiting for me.:D
I was like a human snow man.:D
That sounds cool Al, it is always great if you are the first one through the snow :)
We had a fair bit yesterday afternoon for about an hour, but this morning the roads were clear (ish) and I have made it to Cardiff aiprot and... my flight to Edinburgh is actually going, with a 50 minute delay... Wooohoo!
Apparently, there is a lot more snow up in Scotland, so we could have some fun :)
Looks like Aldis Special offers for this Sunday might be a couple of weeks late for some?

Mind the Oregon helmet/head camera looks tempting.....
Usually seen at a penny under a ton, thought of getting one when I was cycle commuting
Got to go to bed.
No TV reception due to heavy snow.
No traffic passed in last 30 minutes:)
No snow here just bloody rain
A good idea what small changes in altitude does to rain.
Friends house 6 miles away @ 65m = not a flake
Main town 3 miles away @ 120m = 2inch
My house @ 215m = 4 inch
Old racecourse 2 miles away @ 330m = 8 inch
Snowing like mad again in Ripponden!
and here in Blackburn.
Good covering in the last hour.
Road has no sign of movement
PS Thats cause the curtains are open and I am upstairs looking down on to the road. For information to WP;)
BLOODY HELL
BREAKING NEWS
4 Road cyclists just gone past going up hill:eek: Total MADNESS:o
Glorious sunshine in Darwen.
Oh no, hang on. Heavy snow.
Coming down thick in Radcliffe now.
Snow snow snow. Run run run...:D:D:D
Porelle Drys dug out in readyness for a snow trot. Going to take the camera up, should be an impressive wintery scene if/when it actually stops.
I dont know about anyone else but am i the only person that hates snow on the forum?
You go out on the fells and end up knee deep in drifts and cant run properley or go out on the roads and either get hit by a car or break your neck
Hate it,just as we got rid of the last lot we have a bout 4 inches in oldham again
I agree Fleeter, the novelty is beginning to wear very thin now, while the snow is growing deeper! We've had it in Teesdale for 2 weeks solid now and it's so deep on the tops that it's nearly impossible / is impossible to run in. Quads have burned out trying. Normal routes take double plus time to run. Suppose there's some super training effect, like running in deep soft sand - but you can only take so much -
Can't even risk driving over to the Lakes as the Brough road gets blocked easily by drifts.
boo hoo!:D
Big thumbs up for Porelle Drys for running in the snow/through cold water/slush. Feet toasty after today's snowy runs but would have been numb with normal socks on. I found them in the back of a drawer the other year after enduring numb feet after a cold water/slushy run.
Snow too deep for running - then try this...:)

Had about four full days out over the holidays. All I need's one more to master the Telemark turn (sic)
Where's the best snow?
This is inspiring too:

Coming down again in South Calderdale:)
A couple of hours practising telemarking. What a joke! Finished up with a massive face plant and snow abrasion burns down one side of my face. Would've broken my specs if they hadn't been tungsten carbide memory specs too. Aching all over. :( Don't suppose I'll learn at this age. Maybe I should go on a course.
This weather is amazing, just had a look out now, completely crystal clear, blue skies, the sun beaming, and the moon is out, everything white!
Just heard this weather isn't going to change for at least 10 days, and more snow due tonight!
Took a long run over Ilkley Moor yesterday and followed a set of ski tracks from 12 apostles to Whetstone gate and then down the track towards Ilkley. Someone clearly getting in a bit of cross country skiing.
If those London puffs had anything like the amount of snow we've got this morning in Middleton and North Manchester, Bono and Lenny Henry would be doing a benefit gig for them :D
Erm well :)
Another massive sprinkling of snow here, and its still coming down :p
