spinning last night - first time
it hurt but good hurt  :D
14 miles/2400' over Hameldon, Clowbridge, Water, Liver Hill, Loveclough, Goodshaw hill & Baxenden golf course. Things were going o so well until I turned my right ankle 1/2 a mile from home. Managed to run back on it after a brief cry stop and it doesn't look like an elephant's ankle just yet so hopefuly will be OK.
Nice spring day today with clear views of the various Rossendale valleys, Stoodley Pike, lot's of windmills and a numbers of circling aircraft waiting to land at Manchester. Hope the weather for tommorow is better than forecasted and then I can have a longish dry bike session.
Fingers crossed for the weather, hope the ankles ok. Set off on a run, knee ok until started going downhill, turned back and dug the road bike out of the cellar. 21 miles in bright sunshine, plus two mile long steep climbs 20% in places on the first, 30% in places on the second. Knee ok on the bike:confused:
slow and steady 4 miles with loads of stretching. Last run before the skyline.
Bring it on...
8 miles over Grassington & Hebden moor via Yarnbury and Hebden gill, lots of mud and sunshine, great fun.:)
First run of my 3rd comeback since January.
Managed about 4 miles of tarmac slapping fun with my neglected running buddy. (Cant see why he cant run when I dont, but the what the hey).
Wish I could have have took him up on the moors and shown him the way tonight. Alas its just the flats for me (and him) for a while till my knee is right.
I hope I can take him along to a fell race in the very near future.
I have named him Roy the Runner.

A circuit training session followed by an 8 mile club road run. As usual I got all stupidly competitive and probably over cooked things with Edale in mind. No running tomorrow or Saturday should see me fine though.....touch wood.
Nice steady 16.5 on trails and hilly roads last night. Nice weather but getting cold by the end. Glad I went out then as it is grim this morning.
Jason
1 hour on hilly roads (again). Hope the wether improves for the weekend as I'm to Burnsall this afternoon.
I'm afraid so, doing Windermere with a group of family and friends, but some drop outs already. No idea of time on an undulating route though. Only as winter focus anyway, with the aim of getting some Lakes Classics under my belt this summer.
Is your marathon training with anything in particular in the summer in mind?
Jason
am 40 mile Cycle pm 8 mile hilly road route.
5.1 miles at 7.15 pace by the side of the canal in Dukinfield at lunchtime
11.8 miles of the Knaresborough Round. A bit snivelly so bailed out after Coneythorpe. Good running on mostly new, to me, paths and tracks. Slowed up a bit with map reading and dog managing.
30 windy wet miles on road bike with Ady in Accy, top bloke, nice to meet you, Ady, hope you had a safe journey home. Ady had done 30 odd miles when he met me and then had to get home after. Giving up energy gels, and going for the slice of ham and a mars bar approach;) Young lad wants to go on a bike ride now, that'll make it 35 miles, still a long way to go to match Ady:o
You've earned your Strongbow tonight, mate, and them chips smelled nice at Nont Sarah's pub:D
A very wet, windy and muddy 6 miles along the dales way to Burnsall and back from Grassington:)
Extremely windy and boggy Half Yorkshireman.Under 2 hrs,so not bad for a fat lad.Two spritely female runners passed me as I was going up Stairs Lane. (they were coming down!)Just off to hose all the peat from my shoes!
82 miles & 5,500' of ascent on the bike over to Calderdale to meet Merrylegs for a twenty odd mile loop over Scandamon moor. Good weather for windmills and ducks but not so for cyclists!
Cheers for that ML, think I would have opted for 45 mins on the turbo in the kitchen if I wasn't meeting up with you - couldn't have taken the shame of a no show :)
4hrs 20mins steady - Hebden Bridge to Connonley, mostly on Pennine Way and last 3hrs in dark. Felt really strong until turning my ankle over about 6ml from end. Iced it after a medicinal pint and praying nothing serious.
Cheers Merry! One of the lads I was with, Steve Brock, is a friend of Bob's and we gave him a knock as we passed his house. He's still got a sore knee too - must be going round!
up with the birds this morning to catch the early worm, 8 miles including 20 mins @ tempo at 7 am supprisingly felt good. :) oh well thats me of to the lakes now for a week, might be able to find some time to fit some training in;) Nearly forgot ran in my crane sports running tights and gillet from Aldi this morning great gear:D
First run for a week - 55 mins - variation of Farnley fields/Post Hill/Sykes Wood - good to get out again:).
7 miles today - i am a good girl :D
22miles, steady run on undulating trail along west highland way from Drymen to Milngavie and back. Grey, cool, wet, muddy, and full of tourists! Nice run though.
Jason
14 miles ish this morning from Ribblehead, up Whernside, Ingleborough and back to RH. With Mapper and Alsoran, many runners out doing reccies for 3 P's. I presume. Missed all the rain which is now lashing at the window !!!
61 miles on road bike with two mates. Up over moors through Heptonstall, Colne, at this point the heavens opened, and my mate had two flats in quick sucession, onward through Barrowford towards Whalley, refuel in Padiham. Turn right and up and down to Tod, other mate started to throw up at this point, food poisoning all week, carried on like a good un, though. Into Hebden Bridge, then up to Blackshaw Head via Church Lane (Steep!) Back down through Colden, through Hebden, Mytholmroyd, and onto Sowerby Bridge and a pint of Guinness that turned into two at The Works. Excellent ride with good company in shit weather, what could be better?
After a mediocre week of 2 x 3 milers on the canal towpath and a 4.5 miler over Outwood trail, pleased to get a long run in.
Up the ramp to Winter Hill (very wet), down the road, then up Matchmoor Lane, on to Collier Mill Rd/Scout Rd and back to the Wrights Arms. 9 miles, 79 mins. ....yes, I realise that 9 miles isn't considered to be long by a lot of people!
Mostly road, mostly wet. Enjoyed.
Burnley 10k this morning, trying to get some speed ready for the relays at Catterick next weekend.
Need to reece Ravenstones in the next few week.
I'm on for reccying Ravenstones JD. 13th April is the only Sunday I've got free, but Disco Stan can't make that (some bleating about summat in London, wasn't listening). Any dates in mind. I can do mid week, as can Stevie C.
