If its round the park, and I'm guessing it is, there's that fantastic tarmac stretch between the swings and the putting green where I'd really be able to put the hammer down!

Updated rules re. dogs at Parkruns HERE.
Well, I am no longer a Park Run virgin.
Broke my duck at Huddersfield this morning.
Good hard session but didn't enjoy the constant flogging.
Much prefer hills and grass.
Good man! Aye, Hudders is a whole load of tarmac for sure.
Why not venture over to Marple one Saturday, maybe as a warm-up before a Peak District (e.g. Hayfield) race.
We have lots of grass (muddy after rain), and a couple of hillocks along the river section. No tarmac at all.
Even our illustrious CL seems to enjoy the Marple flogging - as he's been back for more.
;)
Cheers OB1 will come over one week.
Fast flat running is one of my weak links and I need to get a little quicker on the flats, mainly on the run in.
Well done Trev and nice position Swoop
Good to see Wharfee today at Skipton
Going for my second attempt at Huddersfield tomorrow. Only about 80ft of ascent.
The fourth biggest parkrun in the world...ever! It was bolstered by being a 'mob run' which brought club runners from far and wide, but Hudds has seen massive turnouts all year...
As a secondary tip, start on the left and get tight to the cafe, the right hand side is uneven and you get pushed out wide on the first turn...
Sounds as flat as Aylesbury. On the OS map it doesn't cross a single contour. Can't recommend it though. Apart from being far away from most of you and pancake flat, it's also entirely on concrete and tarmac paths. But stuck down here in the Vale what else can I do? There are no fell races to run! Still, it's bringing my time down nicely - 20:04 today - 55 secs faster than anything I managed in 2 1/2 years at Bolton.
Hope it never gets as big as Huddersfield though, simply couldn't fit that many on the paths, especially on the second loop when there's lots of overtaking.
Sounds good Latege for PB's
Hudds is big enough that I only started passing folks on the last half mile and they were all kind folks who kept to the side to let quicker runners through.
All tarmac and long straight downs and a couple of short ups. Should quicken me for the Bofra's
PS excellent time for you today, sub 20 is waiting. Well done.
Love park runs.. I do congleton and delamere parkruns. They don't get in the way of paid events in the slightest. They really help my speed work.
It's not about getting in the way of paid events, but it's a bit irritating for a club team manager when an athlete says they're not available for a club race and then turns up at Parkrun instead.
Parkruns are every weekend .. club rubs arent, priority for me and most other club runners are to attend these and use parkruns as infills.
Went to Huddersfiel this morning, deamed it too icey for my footware.
Just got 10 mile in with Mrs Stagger on the moors above Marsden.
Cracking morning on the fells.
Townley for me today, cant run that early tho, legs didnt feel like me own...gona go out and do proper run now.
I run better before lunch. 9:00 to 10:00 window is optimal after Porridge at 7:00
Skipped Parkrun today for a 14 mile Bimble on Bleaklow (weather was just too nice not to be high). I didn't think of the Stagger option - Chapeau.
Last weekend was the first time I've started a Parkrun and not finished it. Ran first two laps of Oldham at normal pace but then felt queezy on the start of the final lap and pulled out, Felt fine 10 minutes later so not sure what happened, weird.
Yes, Aylesbury's definitely good for PBs if you're coming from elsewhere. I was hoping for another today since I haven't got many miles in this week and legs were fresh but I was actually 9secs slower. Maybe due to the hacking, chesty cough I've suddenly developed or maybe I just ran unusually well last week.
Anyone know what the Burnley run is like? -tarmac or gravel, 'hilly' or flat? I will hopefully be up there in a couple of weeks and since I can't see any fell races in the calendar that w/e I may give it a whirl. ..... On the other hand, with only a few precious days with the opportunity to get out on the moors I'll maybe choose a solo run on the tops somewhere instead.
Is there any fast flat park runs in Lanc's ?
Anyone want a quiet parkrun in West Yorks get along to Cross Flatts park (Beeston, south Leeds) - roughly 50 runners today compared with the mega-numbers at Bradford, Leeds & particularly Huddersfield.
I think this one in Warrington will be the fastest when it starts next month Stagger:cool:

Thanks Trev. Happy New Year to you, Linda and the boys.
447 'runners' at Bradford today. That must be good. Mustn't it?
