Listening to some of what he was saying, he sounds more bitter that Beckham got it.
I remember thinking at the time he would have been a good choice. But everything I've heard him say since has made me question his mindset. Did the managers see that too?

The difference is, Stagger, is that City / Chelsea are the type of club who will get rid of a manager for only winning the league cup whilst the likes of Arsenal & United aren't.
Moyes is in a fairly unique position as not many people have to follow a manager who has been there for 26 years. So he'll be given more time...

It's a good point Richard. If you watch footage of games from the 70s (for example) it's almost a completely different game these days. Older games were much slower and seemed spread out compared with today's games. Maybe there is more focus on fitness these days, so the games are faster, so players are more tired.Quote:

Just watching United v Liverpool. Great game shame Man U couldn't take some points of Liverpool and do Arsenal a favour, but that would've been a miracle. It's the first time I've watched Man U for ages - they are truly dire.
Just goes to show how good Fergie was it looks like he made a silk purse out of a sows ear season after season towards the end of his reign.
I feel for Moyes it's not so much that he's out of his depth, he's just inherited a really mediocre team.
Not good...
