After reading this thread I felt slightly inspired. I have been doing 15minute runs and building the knee back up slowly. I just went out for a 20 minute run on flat grass.
First 5 minutes a stabbing pain in knee about every minute "Stop being soft keep going" I told myself
10 - 15minutes A pain every 20 seconds "Stop being soft keep going" I told myself
Last 5 minutes stabbing pain in knee every step. "Forget it"
It aint happening for me, this aint being soft and it certainly would not handle any downhills in a fell race.
Its been two and a half years, 5 physios, orthotics and a heck of a lot of strenthening, stretching and frustration.
I used to live and breathe fell running I really did. Hence my determination to get back.
I know injuries I can run through I ran on painful ankles all the time, they loosen up.
Time for a scan me thinks probably two years too late.
So my two penneth for what its worth is "not everyone can just crack on through the pain".
Cheers
