3 Peaks cyclocross. Help!
To anyone going up either spectating or supporting a rider on Sunday:
I am going to film the event with a view to putting it on YouTube. My son was going to be helping but now can't make it so I was wondering if there was anybody out there who could film some of the event on their digital camcorder so I can include more footage. Anybody?
-
Re: 3 Peaks cyclocross. Help!
I was going up to watch but then my daughter has arranged a sleep over for the Sat. Evening so may not get up there until later in the day. Give Terrahawk a helmet Cam!! He is doing it, isn't he?

Yes indeedy, what a carry on:D Carried the sodding thing 6 miles once after a puncture cos i had no spare inner tubes or bicycle repair man's phone number. Plenty of spare tubes, puncture repair kit and a couple of spare wheels for sunday, oh and a spare tyre round me waist:D
The rest is up to me Merrylegs cos the spares department don't stock them.

Re: 3 Peaks cyclocross. Help!

Cheers wharfie;) Riding as a Fell Pony, but seeing as us Ponies ain't got a cycling strip (yet) i'll be in PBK get-up on a grey Paul Milnes crosser
Suppose PBK could stand for PONY BIKE KIT instead of Probikekit:cool:

Re: 3 Peaks cyclocross. Help!
Had a bloody marvelous day out, spent most of it in the good company of Stringman, you were right mate, that first pint never touched the sides;)
Rob Jebb...................what can you say....amazing. No waiting to get over the stile at the top of Simon Fell or queuing for the bar afterwards for this speed merchant:cool:
The weather was great, cracking view of the Howgills and Lake District from the top of Whernside. Pen-y-Gent looked enormous as we approached up the path of pain, even more painful coming back down:rolleyes:
Mrs Merrylegs and the mini's did a cracking job as support, but could'nt catch me from Ribblehead back to Horton. Ran out of water halfway up PYG, big thanks to the couple who were handing some out:)

Re: 3 Peaks cyclocross. Help!
Well done Steve; glad you enjoyed the day as I knew it meant a lot to you especially after last year's cancellation.

Re: 3 Peaks cyclocross. Help!
My favourite moment was at the stile when rider 44 went straight past a massive queue, climbed the fence and went off into the distance saving himself at least 4 minutes, absolutely shameless, there's never a lightning strike about when you need one is there.

Didn't see that but heard about it, that's just not cricket:rolleyes:
I slung my bike over the fence and then queued for the style and being far too polite let loads of people go first (or was it because my legs hadn't recovered from Simon Fell:confused:):D

A reet racin man that'un...'ard-faced 'n shameless...adds a bit o' spice to th'occasion...easy to see 'oo it is; checkowt results on DT's earlier post... shows rider number in one o' columns.;)
Reminds me o' Pendle fell race many years ago when a certain Bingley 'arrier... a gret big 'eavyweight not to be argued with...jumped o'er a gate at Buttocks where everyone else wer queuin up...a lass shouted "hey you can't do that!"...'n the fella just turned round 'n said "f##k off yer bitch!!!"... well funny!:D
-
Re: 3 Peaks cyclocross. Help!
If it was him, I don't consider his finish time, or the fact that he was at the back of the queue rates him as a "reet racing type", he might as well have waited, (not that I'm bitter, he said bitterly).
Sounds more like a "reet Aspergers type" to me.
Anyhow the Autism society are having an educational campaign at present so I should be more sympathetic.

I've nothing against jumping a gate at the hinge end, I was brought up on a farm and that was considered safe for the gate, the rest of the queue should be doing that.
Rickety dry stone walls & fences are another matter, as perhaps is the offended queue.:)
