Quick 5 miler on the local hill. Funny really, since moving here I've lamented over the lack of height gain on these hills. Now that I'm due to leave them behind for pastures new I'm lamenting leaving them behind. Never bloody happy with what I've got, grass is always greener somewhere else.

Well I've finally done it. I broke the 30 mile barrier today. Did a long solo run from Masham to Lofthouse via Hackfall and back via Ramsgill and the moor again. Not too bad on the ascent, 3129'. It hurt a lot in the last ten miles but if I'm going to do the Fellsman, it will hurt a lot more!

A fine effort Hes, congrats, you'll be reet for the Fellsman. I only did one 40m training run in 2009 and got round ok, hurt is temporary:wink:
The Fellsman is an eating competition with some running and walking in between!

Thanks Steve. I'm good at the eating bit, not bad at the walking...its just the running I need to get better at!

Steady jog round the full 3 Peaks route. Started at a nice pace but started to cramp up at top of Whernside. Bit of a struggle after that.

Plenty of walkers out and had a chat with a couple of runners at Ribblehead. Anyone off the forum perhaps ?

Was aiming for under 5 hours but the cramp and the mud slowed me down and ended up around 5:15

Really enjoyable run/recce of the blubberhouses 25 route, started cold and misty, finished in glorious sunshine with a nice steady climb up Beamsley Beacon halfway round. Lost a mile somewhere as my Garmin says 24 miles. Really glad to have some miles under the belt again.

At least your Garmin works!! I can't get my bloody thing to upload. What was the total altitude for the route??? Must have been 2,000ft-ish.
