    Re: Today's Training

Yesterday was the 2nd time me and emmi have done hill reps on Winter Hill.

Last night emmi cracked it and ran all the way for every one of them.

We where talking during a rest point before we went up for our 3rd rep, and we had an idea to see what the time difference was like if we where to power walk up the hill rather than run it.
Oh my days, it took 10 seconds slower which isnt too bad but the pain!
Both of our legs where screaming at us, and my back was on fire......

So a note for all....running up a ascent is easier that walking it......scientifically proven last night.

Interesting but that might not be true for every one

As a hill steepens different people start walking at different times. I'm getting stronger and can run up steeper hills but if it's runnable I get dropped but the minute it gets too steep to run I pull it all back and pull away. I put it down to BG training and long legs? give me steep hills any day

If you take a sample of two it's going to be very weighted in one direction

eg How many legs do mammals have
    Cow -4
    Pony -4 (usually)
ergo all mammals have 4 legs

??? How can you have "minus 4" legs?

'Proper' steep? As long as it's not "fair" steep....

Yeap i was thinking that. Every climb is different and i guess it all depends on what the hill thorws at you.

But atleast i can say...but i shouldnt really because im loosing my advantage....that its easier to run all the way up winter hill than speed walk it.

25 mins easy trot along the cliff tops.

The sun was shining, birds singing, lambs bleating and the gentle sound of waves crashing onto the rocks below – It’s great to be alive
Frequent but moderate workouts on a consistent basis are the key to success
