First I've seen of it! I can't do it 'cos of work, but I know the moorland bits of it pretty well - should be a nice run, once the initial climb is out of the way!
I'd like to do it, but it might be a last-minute decision. I wonder if they're taking entries on the day? The website sort of indicates that you have to put 'em in by 25th October ...
What I don't get about this race is why they need to state: "we are starting with a relaxed "fun run" type of event, without affiliation to organisations such as FRA - and no "chip timing"!"
I can't do it anyway (our 1st club league XC is the next day), but this sort of statement puts me off.
Tempting, I was up there for a walk today actually. I may give it a go
I emailed the race organiser. He said that they WILL take entries on the day, but only have a limited number of T-shirts .... so if they run out, race entry is only 2.50 vice 5.00. He says to get there for 0915 if you're entering on the day.
I daresay the T-shirt thang won't trouble too many folks here .... :-)
I think it sound great! They make a big effort on the website to emphasise that this is an inclusive race for everyone HOWEVER SLOW. Just what I need. I may well enter on the day, even though I'm not ready to race 10k, and aim to enjoy it rather than stressing about my poor time.
And I can get there on the bus, practically door to door.

Begin afresh, afresh, afresh.
I finish nights that morning, but it sounds pretty relaxed, and it IS a nice course...I'm tempted to come along and enter on the day...
I've decided to burn my boats and enter NOW. I emailed the organisers Chris & Gill Hill & not only did they reply pretty much instantly, they have a sense of humour too. There are not too many events on offer that are at once fun run and fell race, I feel I should make the most of this one. It would be fantastic to meet some other forumites (awful word, but I can't think of a better) there.
Begin afresh, afresh, afresh.
Pretty sure I will be doing it. Very close to home and the route looks decent.
Just hope my back is up to fighting strength after pulling it on Sunday.
