    Full Tour of Pendle

Can anyone provide a couple of route tips please (in anticipation of grotty weather on the 17th!):

Checkpoint 5 - seems to be on a random section of path, is that right? Apart from just following a bearing from Ogden Clough are there any intermediate landmarks to aim for?

Checkpoint 9 - is this at the wall junction? (I have a vague recollection of someone saying it's just a random piece of moor in a post last year).

CP5 is on a path junction before the wall corner. There is an obvious trod leading down from the wide path so no problems. You will know you have reached the checkpoint when you bump into the marshals!
CP9 is on a small knoll just before a wall junction. Look out for the marshal. Last year he very kindly wore a bright orange caghoul.
(Information correct as of 12.30pm today when the weather was glorious!)

Due to the number of people who use the Tour route for training runs etc, there is a path virtually all the way round it now!!!. There are plenty of other routes over Pendle but most runners seem to use this route when they go for a run.

Where is the checkpoint at the top of the final climb.

    Is it?

    Big End Trig
The wooden Stile at top of the climb.
The Brick Stepped Stile at the top of the final climb.

    Cheers

Thats not great news for me, last time I saw Andrew at the final checkpoint in a race. He said "You''ll easy break three hours here". I then got lost, he's my final checkpoint omen.

    Full Tour of Pendle

Is it me and I can't see it for looking

Can't find the date for this but is it not usually the 3rd weekend in November? (not got the shiny race book I'm looking at the forum races list)

Don't really want to tempt fate by entering this far in advance but it gives me at least what 6 weeks to get 'reasonably' fit again.

Just need to make sure there is no row with a stile this year
