    Greetings from the South

Hi - Daniel here - thought I would join the forum having moved from Sheffield to Reading and no longer have the hills in my back yard to keep up with events/chat at the pub. I ran with the Dark Peak club most of last year warting - not sure if there are any members online here?

Does anyone know if there are any good runs in the south downs? closest i am going to get without going to Wales or back to the Peaks. seems i have swopped m for ft on the map in the move south....hmmm.

    Welcome to the forum.

Yeh, there'll be a couple of warts active on here. Ian Dark Peak (Winterburn) the most prominent.

Having been born and brought up in Reading I'd agree with Stolly, the Ridgeway, particularly the area around Uffington White Horse, is good. I've cycled the whole thing. I didn't know what fell running was when I was there and was more into kayaks and horse-riding but there is some lovely countryside accessible from Reading and the woodlands are beautiful. If I was there now I'd spend some time running and exploring Burnham Beeches which wouldn't be too far to go. Definitely not felly but some good trail running.

Hi Dan.....Thanks nice of you to say so.

I'll need to check but we organise a a mud run type race down near the chilterns I think. Not really fell running but it's a nice area for running.

Come back North as soon as you can...
