Howgill Barrel Push
HOWGILL BARREL PUSH – Sunday 20th September 2015 - This is NOT an FRA organised or insured event (we will be arranging our own insurance).
Organisation is very much under way for the inaugural Howgill Barrel Push...competing teams will carry a nine gallon barrel of beer from the Cross Keys Inn, Cautley to the Red Lion pub in Sedbergh. The route will traverse the Howgill fells, taking in Calders, Arant Haw and Winder covering a distance of approximately 5.5 miles. The contest will take place on Sunday 20th September 2015 against the clock. Team captains must report to the start at the Cross Keys, Cautley by 10.30 am to register. The Race starts from 11.30 am. Final briefing will be at 11.15 am. Entry will be £35 per team.
This is a charity beer barrel carrying challenge in support of Air Ambulance NW. All funds raised including any additional fund raising will be donated via a Just Giving page (details to follow) or via the organiser.
For further information, application forms and a copy of the rules please email me adamperry7 @ hotmail.com or to the landlord at the Red Lion johnny_hailey @ yahoo.co.uk {don't include the spaces either side of '@', it's just to cut down on spam). More information to follow and I will also try and make the forms more easily available in the next week or so.
Hope to see you there, fancy dress optional but encouraged !

Sounds link fun, Adam. Can the teams drink the beer before they start? Mind you, I thought the Cross Keys was alcohol-free, so maybe it just contains lemonade!
