8 miles, 3,150 feet, 2 hours 17 minutes, over and around Wansfell. Rather misty, for the first time in weeks. Two cuckoos!

So Mrs WP has had the call again. The masks fell through a couple of weeks ago, but apparently they have some gowns to make.
Not sure how the walks together will pan out going forward so just went for a decent one today.
A longish walk through Tockholes to the top of Roddlesworth, a sarny and drink, then on over Cartridge and the Tower before dropping through Tockholes back home.
13 miles, 1900 ft (I suspect it's adding around 10-15%) and 4:05

The route of the Round Hill race is trouble free, very few people on the moor save for a few mountain bikers. The course is very dry. I put a lap in at full speed so as not to neglect ankle stability in training, the trods are quite challenging on the ankles and very fast with being so dry. No love letters from the coppers when i got back to the car.

Todays PDE was a 7 mile and 800ft evening run over local fields and then down into and back up out of Lathkill Dale. We had had a shower of rain about an hour before I went out and the freshness of the air and smell of the moisture on the grass was fantastic. Not a soul to be seen but it was nearly dark when I got home!
Visibility good except in Hill Fog
6.4 miles, 2,100ft, 1 hour 37 minutes, over and around Wansfell. The ridge between Wansfell Pike and its true top is super running at the moment, as is the grassy descent from the Pike down through Blue Hill Woods. Very few on the fells today.
Those walking/cycling on the path next to one of the canals on the news last night were repeatedly well within 2 metres of others - madness.
10k on bike around the local tracks and trails.
Very nice quiet morning.
I didn't see this news item, but in some areas of our cities, canal towpaths are the only peaceful, safe places to go for a walk or bike ride. It's about time our cities followed what has been going on in some other countries, where city streets have been closed to motor traffic, or at least had lanes coned off for use by pedestrians and cyclists.
In his lifetime he suffered from unreality, as do so many Englishmen.

In addition to my 3.6 mile run to Tockholes I met Mrs WP there and then walked back home 2.2 miles, 38 minutes.
Better weather than I had expected.
