10.8 miles, 3,110 feet, 3 hours 19 minutes: Loughrigg trails, including Todd Crag, Lily Tarn, down the race route to the road at High Close, through Deerbolts Woods to Grasmere shore, and back up to the top via Loughrigg Terrace and the steps overlooking Grasmere. Overcast, with the cloud base at about 2,000 feet. There is a snow line at roughly half that. Virtually continuous drizzle; a moderately strong cold breeze from the south east. Terrain wet/saturated and slippery. Not many walkers about; no runners seen.

New trousers day 2: surprisingly, they dried overnight without being anywhere near a heater; again, they kept me nice and warm.

11.77 miles, 3,500 feet, 4 hours: Rothay Bridge to Silver How and back, going to Loughrigg top both ways, and taking in Clappersgate, Todd Crag, Lily Tarn, and the race descent to the road at High Close on the way out, and ascending via the steps overlooking Loughrigg Tarn on the way back. Blue sky and sunshine, with some fluffy clouds mainly above the high tops. There was a lovely inversion over Windermere as I set out, but it soon melted away. No precipitation, no significant wind. Terrain dry/damp/wet and slippery in places, especially wet rocks. Quite a few walkers about. There was an orienteering event on, so lots of runners clutching colourful maps - a good day for it.

3:25, 11 miles, 1800ft with the other half. Took a packed lunch although a bit misty on top so no great views today.
Out to Roddlesworth, over Darwen Moor to Whitehall and around through Bold Venture to Sunnyhurst, picking up Weasel Lane then back home.

10.45 miles, 2,727 feet, 3 hours 9 minutes: Loughrigg trails, including down the race route from the top to the road at High Close, down through Deerbolts Woods to the 5 chimneyed cottage, along the road towards Grasmere, and back up to the top via Huntingstile, Red Bank Woods, and the steps overlooking Grasmere. Overcast/foggy, with the cloud base in the valley floor. Constant mizzle/drizzle/light rain, though it was not at all cold, and I did not use my waterproof top. A moderate breeze from the south. Terrain saturated/streaming/slippery. Not many walkers about. A dozen or so lads were running down from Todd Crag as I went up - apparently they were a stag do group. One of them had a gorilla suit on, though it was so warm he had the top half hanging from his waist. Apart from them I saw 3 other runners.
