I'm smiling at that efficiency of effort. And you've reminded me I'm letting chin-ups and pull-ups slip again. I tend to placate my guilt by reminding myself that indoor rowing satisfies the 'pull' muscles, but in reality I know I'm just being a coward.

Yesterday, I had to fell a tree, single axe lumber jack style, so 25 mins of swinging, and I felt it this morning. It's actually the wrong time of year to fell tress, but circumstances dictated it's rapid removal to allow access. Sawing it into manageable chunks so I could drag it away to the byre provided further resistance training.

Anyway, I'm setting the scene for why my EMOM times were slower than usual today:

EMOM press-ups - 10 reps (floor to lock to floor) press-ups, every minute, for 10 minutes.

Seconds remaining for each of the sets.

    42 - 41 - 42 - 43 - 43 - 43 - 41 - 38 - 37 - 26

On the penultimate set I really wondered whether I was going to make this standard exercise!

    8 chest to floor press-ups E2MO2M x 15, so a total of 120. Lunges etc in-between. 2 minutes was just right.

    EMOM 10 x 10 is my target!

    Still avoiding pull-ups

EMOM chin-ups. 10 sets. Straight arm hanging to chin over the bar, back to straight arms. So, not a set number of reps each set, but given I can only manage a puny few per set it's just how many I could churn out, which doesn't take much time per minute! Definitely no hanging around.

    4 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 3 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 3

Well done! Doing EMOM chin-ups to failure means that the second set comes far too soon. Like you I find that after a series of 2's some 3's seem possible.

    Thanks Mossdog!

    Today's session:

    E3MO3M chest to floor press-ups to failure: 21-10-9-10-10-10-9-10-11-11 - then 4 chin-ups for fun.

    So a total of 111 press-ups.
