Ah Dan, that would help explain the 'weight discrepancy'...the hip pockets look big on the Salomon so its quite conceivable they're both 1.5l (smaller than the smallest bumbag) to make the total capacity up to 20l....however thats not a lot of use when you're trying to fit a tent and sleeping bag in !!
