Smile on the way up, scream on the way down!
True enough Eddie.
What was wierd about Leg 3 was we didn't see a single soul between Dunmail and Wasdale, not even in the distance. Even Scafell Pike was free of people.
Did you see anyone on Legs 4 and 5?
Did you see anyone all day!? Could be some kind of record.
My back problem after Lord's Rake was odd. All that bending up the Rake seemed to trigger a strange muscle reaction and just before the top of Scafell I had to find a patch of grass and lie down and straighten my spine!!
Was desperately hoping someone would come past and find me stretched out full length on the floor!!
The only one who can tell you "You can't" is you. And you don't have to listen.
Well done Eddie. Top effort!! Thoroughly enjoyed supporting you on leg 1 including the memorable descent down Halls Fell - got a bit blowy at one point didn't it? Was it like that all the way down to Hellvellyn?
Again well done Eddie
Re your muscles, I felt fine (if tired and with sore feet) and actually felt like I could go for a recovery run, the following day I was a bit stiff, but the day after that was serious torture(could hardly walk), went to the physio who gave me a hard massage and apart from a headache felt greally good with no problems so I would get some one to work on your legs as soon as possible.
Happy Birthday as well, Headless, what a way to celebrate it
Hills and Guinness!
When I finally get my a**e in gear in the New Year and start to gather info for a "conditions" column in my winter completions listings I must ask whether any else had a "human" free Round.
Just bizarre - it wasn't that bad a day really, not in the daylight hours.
Perhaps Friday's weather scared everyone off.
Or perhaps they all went shopping.............
