    yes, big thanks to you for taking me on the reccie, way back in Feb, it helped me negotiate that long run of ingleborough, thats because it was the only bit we could see on the reccie eh.

    How many started?

    'Retired finish' folk don't seem to be included in the full results (e.g. John Brown of Salford) even though they started.

    I did hear that announced on the commentry at Ribblehead. Blowed if I can remember though!

    They are listed on the splits list. However the system relies on runners producing a "dibber " record. It appears that something went wrong with a dibber box (?) at PyG because a lot of the data is missing so although Sportident shows 742 runners starting I was told by the PPP Chairman that 759 actually started.

    But you can't easily see how many DNF's there were.
