Apart from Rollick Stones I'm not aware of any. You have to start up Torside Clough (Pennine Way) but once beyond the stile above the farm you can go where you please. This is the best part of the route for choices and the competitors are seen spread out all with their personal lines.Originally Posted by BLUEBIKE
But there is access from the Longdendale Trail at about SK071984 which takes you through the woods and straight up Wildboar Clough. That should be a reasonable alternative.
The idea is to go through check points, which way you do it between, as long as it does not upset the locals, is up to you.
As I posted, I am talking with Moors for the Future as they are asking for us to avoid certain areas. I will let you know where these areas are once I have had a reply from them.

Depends on exactly where the checkpoints are and any instructions about the route whether that makes any sense. It wouldn't have been a good idea last year as the checkpoint was at 072990, and we had to go anticlockwise round the reservoir I think.
