Yes, thanks for a superbly organised event. The administration was spot on and the food at the finish was excellent. The people manning the checkpoints deserve a special mention. Although the weather was not as bad as had been forecast it was still pretty grim for the first hour and a half of the race and it can't have been pleasant for the marshalls, particularly those out at checkpoints 1 and 2.

It was my first time at this event, so I was glad to get in just under 3 hours. It's definitely one of the events I'll be hoping to do again (in a better time) in 2009.

Wasn't too bad but then I did have lots of kit on. After every one had gone through it took about 30-40 minutes to get the ok to move on and sweep the course as some walkers had changed routes with out telling any one.
I got into Bull clough (very brave of me considering I'd stopped the BM from getting fed) I got in to a clan tent(shelter) and laid down on my OMM sleep mat and I fell asleep for 10 minutes

The Sweep through was really tough as the wind had picked up and we had 40 flags to carry.

My eyes are a bit sore tonight due to the wind but they should be ok by tommorrow.

Great morning out, and fantastic food and welcome back at the end!

Had a couple of flirtations with the bog monster but the weather was (relatively) kind...

I'll be back for more next year!

I'd just like to echo everyone elses comments - many thanks to all the organisers and marshals. It can't have been pleasant standing out for so long. I ran the 23 mile route, and the wind certainly picked up, at a couple of points I was barely moving running downhill on a road into the wind. I was about 20 minutes down on last year. Conditions made the run pretty tough compared to last year.

Thanks to all that turned up to compete, wether it be walking or running. The event would not happen without you all.
A big well done to all, Slippery Stones who won the 15 mile moorland race in 2 hrs 08 mins and SteveS who came in first in the 23 mile hybrid in 3 hrs 58 mins.
Will get results out ASAP on here. Full results, including the walkers will be on WMRT site soon.
Just been round Laddow, Chew Res, Arnfield Moor and back over Lads Leap.
Think IanDP kept to many people away from the Bog Monster, its moved over Chew way and isn't quite as hungry any more.

Re: Grin 'n' Bear it 2008

    Hmmm just spotted a mistake.

It appears all the runners have been put together regardless of whether they did the 'Race' or ran the long route.

I'll see if I can get it split down.
