Thanks to every one that turned out to run, no races would continue without competitors, and thanks for the positive comments.
Don't mind criticism if it is constructive but it is good to get praise.
I found it tough today, getting slower as the years go by, but it was a pleasure to be out on the hills on a day like today.
Does Alan Jones of Dark Peak, who lives in Cheshire, visit the forum, or does anyone know Alan. I could do with him giving me a call some time, please.

And no races would happen without dedicated organisers and helpers

Well done everyone, particularly Andy and team.

I managed to deliver some runners to the start, marshal at Wessenden, hand a drink to Daz H at Crowden as he ran past (actually NVMM did the handing bit), drive to Tintwistle, run the Gravy Pud, and then get to Edale shortly after the first runners came in. I don't know about you lot, but I was exhausted!

Glorious day, chilly in the wind at Wessenden, but definitely shorts weather at the Pud.

Just like to add my thanks to Andy, Ian & all the rest for putting on a great race.

Cramps hit me just as I was about to leave the Snake Road, then intermittently all the way to the short crossing.

Does anyone know if that was a ladies record for Nicky? It was certainly an excellent time.

It was a good time for sure. Nicky was soon in and as usual smiling whilst the rest of us looked like crap.
Geoff I was particulary dissapointed that you had not had a shave before the race.
I will note that down in my report.

since i wasn't running i made myself into a drinks station at the snake by dint of cunningly putting a tray on a stool

well done to everyone for looking so cheery on the horrible road section

hopefully i'll be running it next year!

Stunning day out. Thanks to everyone involved (especially to the MRT who were cooking bacon above Hern Clough, you swines!)

I got the finish confused with the Skyline and thought I'd see a tent in the field at the bottom of Grindsbrook. I hammered down the flags to try to get under 4 hours, only to see no tent and remember that the finish was half a mile further!

Good to meet Mick (see you at Mickleden) and thanks ratfink (I assume?) for the Nutrigrain at the Snake!

Oh, and how good was the MR ale?!

    Top race!

I didn't get cramp but thats because I don't run fast enough to get it

I went a bit off my recced course on Bleaklow because I can't get out of the habit of following other runners but after a quick compass check and adjustment I managed to get back on my route. I think I must have crossed the Pennine Way between Hern Stones and Wain Stones without realising it to get East of my planned route?

The Snake Pass was interesting, I have driven over that road section thousands of times in the past when it was part of my commuter route but never experienced it as a pedestrian before.

It was also interesting watching all the different routes runners took on the
final section especially up the last climb. I went straight up but when I
looked round I could see others either taking a high route to Blackden or
a lower route to Blackden followed by a climb. I may have to check them
    out for next year.

Many thanks to the organisers and marshalls(MRT) out on the course offering
encouragement. A race like this deserves to survive and its in very good hands by what I saw before, during and after the race.
