I can see the mileage being about right as you can follow the Pennine Way over Blackhill to Crowden and over Bleaklow adding more uneccessary distance on and if you were to follow PW all the way to Snake

But I must admit the ascent is a bit of a surprise but having worked it out roughly on an old fashion paper map I reckoned about 4,300ft so not far out.

My figures came from Motion Based and seem to match up well with other races i've done. Downloading through Garmin training centre for Tanky's gave me 5949 ascent, 5796 descent wildly inaccurate imho

Figures I put on entry form of 21.5 miles and 3750 ft (up) were from the map my run site.
Just used multimap and done a rough calculation, Marsden up to Wessenden down to Dean Clough up to Soldiers lump down to Crowden Little Brook down to Crowden YH up to Bleaklow Head down the Hern Clough up to Alport Low down to Fairbrook up to Seal Edge down to Blackden up to Golden Clough top down to bottom of GC down to Jolly Rambler.
This gives 3950 feet of ascent and 3765 feet of descent put say 15% on for all the "minor" ups and downs gives 4550 up and 4330 down.
Not a million miles away for a rough a***d way of doing it.
What a set of sad people we are, have we nowt better to do, or is a form of relaxation before Calderdale tomorrow.
See some of you around Blackshaw Head to Wainstalls (Royston Vaisey look alike )

    Hi,

Just to say I had my garmin 305 on and it measured 21.7 miles and 5342 of ascent and 5180 of descent. clearly I was going up and down too much!

I don't know if any one has a copy of Tankys results from 2003

I'm trying to fill in the names on one of the trophies from that year.

Pm me or put a link on here. Cheers.
