    This confused me a little. I understand the concept of the loss of energy at the junction, indeed, around half of main drain blockages can be attributed to reduced flow within manhole chambers. But I am baffled that this might be written about somewhere at any great length.

    Strangely enough it does sound interesting to me but the pipes on my rig are only 1/4" bore so I'm not sure the figures would scale down!!!
