Thread: Snowdon Race

    Re: Snowdon 2009

I knew I was clear at the top and had decided before the race that if I was in such a position that I would take the downhill steady. I wanted to save my legs so I could get on with training this week. I am aiming for the World Half Marathon team so needed to ensure I looked after myself during the race.

Roadrunner , will you be doing the Birmingham half this year ?

If so , I'll step up mytraining You probably don't need to worry just yet .

The world half marathon is in Birmingham at the same time as the open half marathon. I hope to be on the World Half team if I can get in good shape and get selected.

Ah , I see roadrunner . I think the route is different this year with less "hills" , as some people were calling them last year , so you may get an even faster time hopefully . Good luck with that .

Anyway I seem to have wondered off the Snowdon thread .

My legs are still feeling the effects of Saturday but I think I may do a race tonight to loosen them up .

My legs have recovered well now. Might have something to do with sitting in the local river the other day!

Cold theropy ? Like it . I sat in the pub the other day . Short term effects good (numbed the pain) Long term effects not really the best recovery method , hense the legs still stiff . umm beer

Without being disrespectful to Holmsey, had he caught you up during the final stages I don't think he would have outsprinted you anyway, nevertheless, it was a tremendous effort by both of you, and all the best with your World Half Marathon Team preperations.
    Well done
