I didn't know it was a champs race in 94, so there must have been some fast times that year too. Yes, Mark Kinch was a great runner, so I'm not surprised he ran that quickly. Would that be the 2nd quickest on the course does anyone know? Just goes to show how good Colin's record is, being another 3/4 of a minute faster!

Yes, I'd be interested too, to see all those results(hence the name!!)
I know the 2001 result, as I was lucky enough to be involved in what is perhaps the closest finish to the race(anyone know otherwise?)After enjoying a good lead at the summit of around 300m, I thought I may be safe for a victory, but with the late, great John Taylor in 2nd spot it was never going to be easy!! As we both descended over the rough petey ground, John was reeling me in quickly, and I felt a little 'rusty' over terrain a little 'bumpier' to that I was used to. This year I at least managed to keep both shoes intact, unlike the previous year, but with John gaining every time I looked round, I started to make mistakes, and stumbled 3 times, with the final fall resulting in a broken finger(and to make things worse, John flying past me!!)As we raced down the final part of the descent, I was aware of the barbed wire to the right of me, and knew that any more stumbles could be even more painfull!! John flew over the stile onto the final track and held 30yds over me, which I gave everything to try to close, but it stayed the same all the way down 90%of that final run in, until I saw John glance behind. This was my final chance, and I launched my final effort, which proved to be just enough as we crossed the line only a second apart(on the results) but there was barely a vests width between us! I think we both ran just a smidgen over 41:30 that day...It was a great race, to which I still feel privaledged to have been part of(and wish I could be that fit again ha ha!!) Hopefully, somebody may have those missing results anyway!

Are these the years which are missing from the Glossopdale Harriers website? As I get time over the next couple of weeks I will scan the old results sheets I have and then post them to our webmaster, and I can PM them to you as well. I do have the sheet from 89 when Colin set the record

The race did not take place in 1995 as dry weather caused access land to be closed to the public (now there's a thought, given the weather the last few years)
