May I echoe Hursty's comments-I really enjoyed today -it was perfect weather even if the ground was still a little tough and "leg sapping!!" Special thanks to Alf-we couldn't have done it without your skills and your local knowledge/tips were just brilliant. I just hope I can remember them all! Lovely to meet you all- you know , aren't fell runners a spiffing bloody bunch?!! I just hope I can keep up with one of you on the actual race day! I have been looking at Ted Hughes poem of "6 Young Men" from the Lumb Bridge site and its beautiful, so glad I've been there. A fell run, with geography, history and literature all thrown in-perfect! Hope to see you all again, thanks a million!!

What a fun day! Good to meet everyone and thanks to Alf for navigating. Ass deep in snow a couple of times and I've never before had my shoes switch between filthy dirty and sparkly clean so many times in one run. Legs are feeling it now though.

Did a half trog reccie today (no time/inclination to do the whole lot!), all boggy and foggy! Had to rely on the compass to get back to High Brown Knoll, otherwise reasonably good.

For anyone not able to reccie it; this is one for the mudclaw!

Thanks again Alf for getting us round - the tips you gave us were invaluable.
I still can't get over Ukhursty's food choice - a good old fashioned pork pie half way around is something i'll never forget!
Nice to meet you all ( apart from the white excitable horse ) and hope you aren't aching too much today.

See you all in two weeks

Linda, Are you having a run round on Wednesday? If so, any chance I can tag along?

I would say not really, quite abit of off-piste stuff, defo worth a recce, or just stick to a CV shirt in the race
