I will second the a bit too many flags bit especially in one of my lost episodes when I ended up following them the wrong way.

    4.41 and 23 miles.
Was that me you were with I finished in 4.31 I think and did over 22 miles despite the short cut to Cock Hill and the ruins

Made what seems a now familiar mistake in the mist and went completely wayward from CP 12 to 13 and added an extra 2 miles on yep, extra mileage though and felt fab at the end and could have kept going so that's the main thing for me....but I think I got the broken map!!

Lovely to meet Yiannis even though we were trudging a bit at the time and Green Flash - you need to shout louder next time when I go massively off course, after all I did give you my singing on descending tip!

Helped save a sheep and find a lost dog so a very eventful run!

Thankyou to all of the marshalls, Rich, Kirsten, Barbara, Helen, Thirza, Stagger of course... too many to mention.. Ben for letting me chuck my gloves his way and for fetching me cake, clearly you know the way to a girls heart ;-)

Thanks Linda, all your hard work paid dividends, excellent organisation and a top tastic day...I need sleep now.

Thanks for all your kind words and very well done to all the runners who got round in difficult conditions, there were some very tired runners at the end. Glad you enjoyed it.

Also a big thank you to all the Calder Valley guys and girls who stood out for hours in the fog and never moaned once.

Nice to see Turbo Tom, Emmilou, Datt and Daz H and the top award must go to Manhar for being so versitile in the marshalling department.

Any constructive feedback about the race would be gratefully received, I hear the one about the flagging.

Many thanks to all of you for a faultless organisation and a good day out. The mist made the race that bit more exciting. It is when you stop running that you realise how hard it is for the marshalls standing in the cold for hours. Thanks again.

Thank you to you it was extremely well managed, even if your hubby just spent his time shouting abuse at the finishers whilst you did all the work.

Overall a great race, thanks to all who helped organise it. Soup and sandwiches really welcome. I found the flagged route at the end of the half Trog really useful, it ment I could stop thinking about where I was going. The only way you might avoid folk following the flags the wrong way might be to put an arrow on the occasional stick marker or make an arrow with hazard tape on the ground every hundred yards or so. Wouldn't need to be many because eventually the lost runner will find one. I think it might be the full Trog for me next year. How about some thicker mist as well... I could actually see someone nearly 100 yards away at one point!

I think following the flags the wrong way was down to me - shouldn't have got lost in the first place and actually it helped as I knew I would find the checkpoint - eventually.
