First "official" ride today, just 20miles, but great to be out, albeit rather slowly

EXCELLENT news Toof, slow maybe, but it is progress!

I did my second ride of the day, mighty hard work pedalling at a cadence above 100... especially when it is undulating But all done and dusted... ready for tomorrow!

Congratulations, Toffer! Yes, it's great to be out, especially now in the fine spring weather.
Today I dragged the Kettler Opal in front of the TV for the Liege-Bastogne-Liege but after viewing 2 marathons and going for a 1 hour run in the hills, my willpower failed me. So, I went for a quiet walk.

Not surprised, after seeing who won Luik-Bastenaken-Luik

Well, I TT-ed again... and it was hard work... did the first hald in 29 minutes (it was a 25), then took 37 to get back :-O

Was very disappointed with this, even gave up at some stage and sat up, until a bloke came tanking past... But it transpired everyone apart from the really good ones was set back by the wind... and I was still fast enough to win second lady WHOOP! I could get used to winning my entryfee and diesel back

Did they still go up Whalley Nab? That's a bit of a knee trembler.
I remember Mr. Boardman winning a time trial there in the Tour of Lancs.

Not to mention the Lüttich-Bastogne-Lüttich and the Giro del Trentino two days before!

    Re: Todays Bike Ride

much as i hardly dare post my paltry efforts alongside Hanneke's scarily professional training - got up early this morning to get my stuff together, so that this evening could get off train in chesterfield (instead of sheffield) and ride to pilates in attercliffe (via owler bar) - 17.5miles, 1200feet, 1:20 - average 13mph - maybe not as bad as it sounds considering had to tone down riding in rush our traffic when back in town, after nearly getting killed by bloke turning right in front of me - i didn't have the wherwithal to swear i think i said WOOOAAAH! really loudly and he looked at me as if to say "What's the deal I stopped at least 2inches from your front wheel", um also carrying small rucksack, um also can't think of any more excuses :P
