does anybody know if the Rhayader Mountain Trail is now defunct?

I think the plug was pulled last year, and I can't find anything this year...

I'm afraid it is defunct, nobody prepared to take it on again as it was always a battle to find enough entries to make it worthwhile.

that's a shame - I really fancy doing something in this area
does anybody know of any other off-road events around the Rhayader area?
maybe I'll just go and recce round something of my own devising on my own

Was planning to do the Drovers Walk next Saturday from Llanwrtyd Wells, probably touches on a corner of the Elenith. But if you're free then, I'm happy to take you for a jog round the best bits of the old Mountain Trail instead, a slow 25 - 30 perhaps? Or another weekend if you like, but I'm pretty booked up (could give you a good route if I can't come).

    Thanks for that molehill
my schedule is pretty choc-a too, but I need to do a few long days out before attempting Bullock Smithy in Sept.
so would be very grateful if you could suggest a route - save me re-inventing the wheel - even if it's just a few checkpoints - working out how to navigate between them will be half the fun!
I will PM you if I sort out possible date(s) for a visit...

It's the Cumbria LDWA Three Rings of Shap tomorrow, starting at 8am. I've opted for the full 100km so should be a good leg stretcher. All good preparation for the UTMB. Anyone else on the forums doing it?

It's the Woldsman this weekend which I'm doing. Along with a few others (I think). Wensleydale Wander is nice from what I remember (only done it once a few years ago now).
