Well there you go - never believe anything you read.....anywhere

Totally agree re Fargo - the Frances McDormand character (Marg?) is a classic. Know a guy who grew up in that area - quite near 'Brainerd' in fact - he said it was a pretty accurate depiction of what people are like there. Probably my fave Coens film, closely followed by No Country, Lebowski, Oh Brother, Man Who Wasn't There etc.. Must watch Barton Fink again soon.

Only a few posts back I'd said how the Hudsucker Proxy had turned into one of my favourite ever films. I'll stick with that, and so it gets my Coen brothers vote.

There's a game you can play with Coen Brothers films - for some reason they really like the image of a rolling object, and many of their films contain this 'motif' at some point

    For instance:
    Hudsucker Proxy - Hula Hoop
    Big Lebowski - Bowling Ball/Tumbleweed
Man Who Wasn't Their - Hub Cap (after the car crash)
    Miller's Crossing - Hat

feel free to continue the list...

I watched 'Burn after Reading' last night from the Coen brothers. I missed it completely when it first came out and just stumbled on it accidentally the other day while I was looking for something else. Frances McDormand and Brad Pitt are excellent in it

Had a lot of ironing to do at the weekend so watched the French film (with subtitles, not good for ironing) Princinct 13 Ultimatum. A mixture of Coen Bros, Jackie Chan and 1980's 'thrillers'. BUT the freerunning sequences were amazing. I know this type of running is quintisentially (oh bo**ocks, my spelling is crap) French but it was extremely well filmed and spectacular to watch.
