My feelings exactly, that's so accurate I could have written it myself, I even made the same mistake and took 50 mins over that leg. Thanks to the walker who (above the call of duty) stood in the middle of Lingmell Beck to help me across.Smashing day out in the end, despite the best attempts of the weather! Great sense of camaraderie and fun on the fells.
That was a really tough race, 1st Wasdale for me. Thought I was on track for a half decent time until making a classic mistake by missing the crossing to Lingmell in the clag. Descended too far and had to contour back up across scree to the last cp which added on a fair bit of time I'll bet. Gutted!
Many thanks to organisers and marshals. It wasn't pleasant on the tops so extra brownie points to all involved.
That cup of tea and the cakes at the end made it all worth while.
