    Peroneal injury?

I posted a while back regarding a tight tendon running from the outside of my leg from just below my knee down to my ankle, I've had it now in both legs and it's kept me out for 6 months with each leg.

Yesterday while doing the Half Tour this pain came back in my right leg again, and it felt like the tendon was going to pop out of my leg, today I can hardly walk on it and the whole band like thing is solid and i can hardly touch it. I think it could be the Peroneal? or something in that area.

Any advice please? I've just coming back from 6 months and I'm now worried that it's the same injury thats come back.

    Thanks

    Peroneal tendonitis??
I have had it and I can say that I still probably get a few niggles from it but I do my exercises EVERY DAY........and it stays in the back ground.

"Eccentric loading" is the phrase.....I think there may be a thread that discussed this in relation to achilles problems??

My lovely physiotherapist showed me how to do some heel lowerings off the edge of the step (NOT raisings!) along with daily stretches and (so far) they work!! (3 years later??).
If you need more than that, I could explain what I do.....ask me if you can cope with the drearyness!

    GOOD LUCK!

It seems to hurt more when I stand on my toes? Could this be the same thing?

    Adrian,

I really hope you get to the bottom of all of this mess, 6 months is a lot of frustration. Im raging after 2 months, keep your chin up.

That's twice today that I've read the word peroneal,

    TENS Machine

Rumaging around the other day for a quick fix to my latest ailment I cam across the above. The Q & A mentions peroneal. Don't ask me for advice or blame me if it doesn't work! Lloyds Pharmacy also have something similar for £15.

    Peroneal tendinitis....

Hi, pain has just started on my right foot underneath and right of my arch. It's swollen and hurts whilst walking. I'm pretty sure it's the peroneal tendon. Anyone had anything similar? Also anyone got any good treatment tips other than RICE. How long should I keep off it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Ta

Just got this. Been told mine is related to poor mobility in the ankle and lower leg muscles, also possible collapsing of arches. Been told to stretch lots and buy those superfeet insoles or whatever they are called.

Just replacing my road shoes to a more supportive shoe and lots of stretching has already reduced the pain considerably.

Been told to keep running because until I sort out my flexibility it will just keep coming back, even after rest

I know what you need: a long, cold, boggy night run in the Peak District. Early March maybe. Do you the power of good.

Cheers Iain just what I wanted to hear that, especially as I've got a number of races coming up very soon. Grouse what your basically saying is to just crack on with it which is also what I want to hear. Laters
