Aye, the attraction is that its simply straight up and down, the strangeness is that there is definitely something in between which makes us want more of it.:w00t:

Funny how I always consider upping my training level AFTER races?

Absolutely! Since I started following that pie blog I've had to step up the training or I would be in trouble.
Assuming he's a bloke (The Pie Finder), I reckon he's a fellrunner... he's always one step in front of me.

It's a unique race, really gets under your skin. I'll keep doing it. Few other races have over 4000ft of continual ascent and descent.

Had a solid run, good climb but just could not descent on the rocks, so eased back and could then kick in on the more runnable sections. Hit the road 14th, but could see 10th and knew that I'd get very few chances of a top 10 at the Ben and managed to kick in and tick them all off.

Still a few minutes down on my PB, but happy enough, reckon the lack of fell racing this year has affected my descending though. Had a good race with a few I knew around me, so made it an exciting race, thought Daz had me when he passed me with ease on the screes, but managed to pick my pace up and follow him on to the grass.

Wife got second, managed to talk her into racing about 30 minutes before hand, because she felt awful, so she was happy with the second, think she's been 4th for the last two years.

You seemed to be doing well when you flew past me. As was Skippy who I managed to introduce myself to before the race. I bet she's glad she ran now ;-)

Are you guys doing the Peris on Saturday ? I think me and me mate are going to give it a go. I recced the route a few times now.
