    Cheers

Most of us were a bit slower than 2008 when it was the Brits, Noel was 2 minutes, Arwel a minute, I flew back from the States a day late, arrived at 9:30 am MAN went to work til 8pm and then bed then up for the race, and faded a lot in the middle, kept switching off. I think because I've ran that route so many times it's like I was lapsing into training run mode, kept having to remind myself to keep racing, it was only when the hungover Saul and Fleeter nearly caught me I got going again.

Sarah has the results so they should be up later tonight or tomorrow, she's off running and climbing today.

Good prizes, I got a nice Soloman jumper for 4th and the team prize was a box of 30 gels between 4, which is probably the best part of £10 of gels each.

Yeah Mercia will be strong, Andy, Tim, Pete Vale, Roland, Simon Bailey, Tim W, and the orienteering guy, should have won them last year.

Can't do Lletty now, but will try and make Aber.

I thought you were going to catch me going up Moel C, there was quite a few behind you and I had this fear of just heamoraging places..

by the way, your old man won a prize, 3rd Vet I think he was, did he get it? If he contacts Jayne, if she allows, some Race Organisers just put the prizes into next years race fund, I could pick it up for him and hold onto it until we next see you at a race.

Thanks Rocksteady. I've not been right since a heavy cold at Christmas which developed into a chest infection causing some rather woeful racing performances. Really chuffed to have turned the corner at last, looking forward to the rest of the season

Went for a run up Moel Eilio today and was trying to remember where the checkpoints are for the race. Apart from the summit of Moel Eilio, Moel Cynghorion and where you join the Maesgwm path back to the finish are there any other checkpoints in this race? Can't remember if there were any others?

Moel Eilio, Foel Gron, Foel Goch, Bwlch Maesgwm, Moel Cynghorion is what I've got marked on my map from last year. Can't remember wher I got the information from. Eryi web site?

    Re: Moel Eilio

Eryri have some details about the race here, which includes a list of control points and their OS ref.

I haven't done the race myself (although have run up Moel Eilio) and I drew this map of what I believe to be the route based on the descriptions. Can someone point out if/where I've gone wrong? I'm failry sure it's accurate up to Moel Cynghorion's summit, but the descent from there is guesswork.

About spot on. Coming off MC head towards some white rocks on the ground, almost at the top of the steeper slope, then descend to a spur and either go steeply down the LHS or less steeply down the RHS and pick up a trod through the marshes to climb back to the wall.

Cynghorion's a bitch, false summits galore...if you can't see the stile there is further to go..
