Thanks Dale, I'm not suggesting that I'm anywhere near the same league as Spyke , just compare our times from Edale Skyline!

Have a good one at TWA on sat

    Five Trigs

    went round today in 5:16
    clockwise for a change
took a slight (semi-intentional) diversion between Gradbach and Wildboarclough by going via summit of Birchenough Hill - found a touching little memorial to a war-time plane wreck
also took the hit of the extra ascent to do the "south blob" of Axe Edge - partly because of my obsession with the Mersey Watershed , but mostly to use the trot along the ridge to take in the awesome view out over Chrome Hill to the Dove valley and (basically) the whole of the White Peak
I so love this route - for it's own sake, as a good training run and if done repeatedly as a good benchmark of fitness

    Re: Five Trigs

I've been eyeing this route up for a while now, and am going to give it a go one of the second or third weekends in June (unless I can sneak a day off work and do it then, lol) - probably start from the unofficial parking next to the road at the north end of the Roaches. It looks a great route Dale, and at my pace I'll have time to enjoy the views from it too!

Well, I finally got around to doing this, anticlockwise from Roach End. It was warm today, so ran out of fluids just after Shutlingsloe, but took a cheeky re-fill at the YHA at Gradbach! Dry underfoot much of the way, though didn't find good lines around Axe Edge at all, and took a couple of minor detours elsewhere too. But overall pleased enough with a 4.52 as I stopped quite a few times to take in the excellent views...it just had to be done.

    6 trigs

The Gritstone Any time Challege took on a different look for me today. I am training for the Lakes 100, so thought that adding an additional Trig would be a good idea to get in a few extra miles.

We went Anticlockwise from the Cat and Fiddle, taking in Shutlinslow, The Roaches and then on over Hen Cloud and up to Ramshore rocks, before crossing the main road and making our way up to the Mermaid in and on to the Trig. From there, we ran along the road to the Winking man and then over the paths back to the usual route to Axe Edge vis Flash.

The additional Trig adds around 7 miles and quite a bit of additional climbing.

Time 5hrs 30mins was pretty relaxed.

    Re: Gritstone Any Time Challen

Had a lovely jog around this route last Friday.
Enjoyed the day with a fellow PFR member. Took us 5:11 min (21 mins faster than last time). I was hoping for faster but we did a lot of talking to a number of folk (Great to meet you Jim!!!) and I went for a roll down one of the hills and had to deal with a badly cut finger.
I’ll be back to do this again before Xmas.

I start this at the roaches and run clockwise as per everyone else. When I get to flash bottom I go left and head across to Gib Tor then to Shawtop and round the back of the roaches to the car. I suppose it is a bit lazy as it saves a drive to the cat and fiddle.

Last time out I met Moorlander and the Master on their 6 trig route. An interesting day out with blazing sun and driving rain in the company of Mikey P.

I think I'll be having a go at this on Sunday. Maybe I'll take in Merryton Low too - see how I feel on the Roaches. It took me 4:25 last time I tried it (without Merryton Low) - I'm probably not as fit this time, but then it's not going to be too hot this time either. I suppose I'll be aiming for an 8:00 start from the Cat & Fiddle if anyone wants to come along.
